Anyone getting quickly bored of the 290?

I won't be upgrading for a while yet as my old 7970 could handle pretty much everything at 1080p with 60fps +, only bought a 290 off the MM here as it was a good price.

Hard to see why you would be bored of a 290 yet tbh < OP it seems you and AMD dont get on i'd give up and go Nvidia :)
Installed and used a few 290's never had a issue with them

OP: I think you should do what you want, no need to make a big song and dance about it. if you want to change GPU's just change them.

*** bit harsh that humbug ***

Asked the admins to close this thread already, Clearly no one gets what I was trying to say and these AMD fans are rather hurt over what I had to say.

So once again, Close the thread please. Thank you.

Funny, because the last time I posted about having an Amd driver issue matt and tommy both posted in quick succession that it must be pebcak and that I should take my pc to Pc world...

:o

There's always two sides to the story andy.

You were a bit vague to say the least there, why didn't you state the reasons why we stated pebcak/Pc World?

I'll enlighten the masses for you:

You came on a thread complaining about each time you installed a new AMD driver, it would blue screen and wreck your OS.

What were we meant to say when you are a pro PC user(who is undeniably an Nvidia Diehard) stated that the only way you could install an AMD driver-was after a complete OS reinstall.:o

My old man is 69 has been installing AMD drivers for years now without issue.:p

So yes, if a PC power user can't install an AMD driver, can you blame us for being sarcastic and suggesting taking your PC to PC world to install the AMD driver for you?

Techen wants to vent his frustrations of having issues. He hasn't had his issues sorted and has been jumped on for venting his frustrations. Reading some of the responses is embarrassing.

Shocking responses and you guys should be ashamed of yourselves :(

To be fair, some Nvidia users ain't helping in this thread neither, either just making make the scene uglier by throwing oil into fire or encouraging OP the solution is to go Nvidia.

If there were people having issue with Nvidia card, I would try to help him to identify the problem and solve it without involve spending money on buying new hardware where possible first; OP is this case sounds like his OP installation has issue or other hardware issues, yet people were encouraging him to drop hundred of quids to buy a Nvidia card like it is a miracle cure for all his PC problems...and frankly, that is embrassing as well. These are the typically comments, with no help or advices for helping OP with his existing setup:
Come to the green side, we have cookies tactical superiority.
Give the OP a break, he probably didn't know that was wasn't allowed to make a negative post about AMD.
Sorry OP, not the way it works on the forums, you're either pro-AMD or you get lynched and accused of trolling...

Exactly. Then you look at the OP's replies to the handful of Nvidia fanboys baiting and you realise quickly the thread was destined for the gutter and that's where it ended up. Most of us called it on page 1 and 2.

This guy :P

The AMD drivers are awful, rarely updated and just silly. I love nvidias drivers and how often they are updated. Honestly, These cards are not worth the money whatso ever.

Again, Youtube comparing BF4 on a 290x vs a 780TI. You can see massive jumps in FPS on the 290x and no jumps on the 780TI. Graphics card or drivers? you pick :P

There's a lot of AMD fans in this forum, I've seen like two nvidia people post in here so far :P

I honestly am nearing the point of selling both, Buying a 780TI and with the rest of the money upgrading other things :P I'll be quite happy getting back onto stable nvidia drivers!

LOL, I love you.

Its a sad state of affairs but some of the people in this section are complete ..... (that's not referring to Techen either)

I didnt say every time, a thread was created for a particular release, i had tried to install it and it had bricked my os, having subsequently searched for info, AMD had actually subsequently posted a warning for mobile users NOT to use that driver as it became a known issue only AFTER id already installed them, but yeah go ahead, it was pebcak and not an admitted AMD bug

Agreed and I wasn't singling anyone out in particular and some facepalm comments from both sides. The guy has had massive issues, of which people have tried to help and he still hasn't got his problems sorted so I read the OP as venting his frustration.

I would be the same if I couldn't get the problems resolved and would be tempted to switch sides. A desperate move but worth it? Pass, and time will tell.

Also people saying they are embarrass of people calling OP a troll...

I went back to look at the OP post again to double-check. Let's see:
1. He's just saying how AMD suck
2. His mind is already made up on going Nvidia

...so let me get this straight...what's the purpose of this thread at all!? If he has already decide he can't stand AMD and believe moving to Nvidia would be the solution to all his PC problems, is there a NEED to shout very loud and try to tell the world about it, rather than just quietly ditch his AMD cards and buy the Nvidia cards?

And looking at the rest of OP's posts and responses, it looks suspiciously like the sole purpose of this thread is just to serve as an invitation for Nvidia users to come together to spit at AMD...
