Anyone getting the Spider-Man 3 game this Friday?

__________________________________________________________________
The PlayStation 3 version of Activision's game will release two weeks later than planned.

This Friday (May 4) sees the release of Spider-Man 3 across the world and it's expected to be one of the biggest movies of the year, if not in movie history. To coincide with this momentous event Activision will release the video game based on the movie.

May 4 was to be the day when Xbox 360, PS3, Wii, PS2, PC and DS owners could experience the movie through their platform of choice, but it seems that PS3 owners will need to wait two more weeks.

Activision UK has today confirmed to Pro-G that the game of the Sony Pictures movie has indeed been delayed on PS3 and is now set for a May 18 release in the UK. No reason for the delay was given.

Can you name the place where you have pre-ordered the CE edition or is it a competitor :(

Competitor, although technically OCUK do not sell USA games, which is what this place sell, but I am fairly sure they are a competitor still.

By the way when I try to add you to my PS3 friends list it says your username "jamesmorris07" is not registered. Am I doing something wrong?

I ordered the CE from my favorite place in Canada :)

Just do a google for video games canada, i am sure the shop would appear in the results :)

Alternatively, if you got a 360. :)

Already own a 360 as well :D . Problem is this game has extra content for the PS3 version that is not in the 360 version (Extra playable character). For this reason it make more sense to get Spider-man 3 for PS3, if you own both consoles. I am assuming in other ways they are equal, although I haven't seen a review for either 360 or PS3 version yet!!

p.s. Jumpurs I have got it from that place as well. Haven't pre-ordered anything from them before (Always ordered instock ites that seem to take 3 days to get to UK), how long you reckon it will take to get to me, after Friday's release date?

I would strongly caution anyone against a blind buy on this especially for the PS3 version.

I have both X360 + PS3 and like em both but the PS3 ports I got for NFS Carbon & Splinter Cell DA were a lot worse than the X360 versions and they lacked graphical features as well as ran a lot slower.

In theory the PS3 version should be the best but missing the original release date tells you that it is probably not a great port as thats what happened to some of the other recent PS3 ports.......

The delay is purely in the UK, you go anywhere else in the world you can the PS3 version the same day. I am guessing it is logistics that is to blame for the UK delay. I am anticipating it will be the same graphics wise as the 360 version, just because all the other naff 360 to ps3 ports are older games. Plus the PS3 has extra content available if you buy the CE edition.

Personally i would be surprised if the xbox had the better version. 1 the PS3, as rp2000 said, has extra content. 2 it is a game based on a movie by Sony Pictures, i dare say there has been some extra clout thrown in there.
The 2 you mention where staggered releases anyway, this is a game dev'd at the same time.

rp2000, i have used the pre order before with no issues. I think Wednesday but my Postie is a git so i'll be lucky for thursday/Friday :(

Well I got mine today :)

What format are these on out of curiousity? (can't remember if you own PS3 only or 360 as well).

I have the PS2 version

The swinging is defiantly tricky to get the hang of I keep ending up too low and crashing into the cars on the street but other than that it's a cool game

Hello mate,

If you don't mind me asking, I'd assume you already checked that an import Bluray will play on the PS3?

I just went to the uk rainforest place, and although they don't sell it direct, their sellers do, at £53!!!! Popped to their .com address and it's $66, much better... ah, just rechecked, it says region free, so I guess no worries there after all. Great.

Have you imported bluray movies and stuff before? How much does it cost when you allow the cost of shipping + customs duty (if any?)

Sorry to hijack the thread a little, I'm just interested in getting this myself now.... and possibly other films, if I notice they're listed as region free. I guess now we've got 1080p as a standard, you don't have to worry about lower res NTSC disks either :) Same standard for all regions? :)

V1N.

EDIT: Just clicked on a handful of other bluray movies on the US site, and all but one that I looked at were listed as Region Free, so that's a good sign, as they're cheaper from there... some of them cost the same in dollars as they do in pounds here. Great, may build my collection a little by importing them then. Deja Vu is one I wanted to get, but actually, that one doesn't mention what region it is at all. I'll try some other US shops.

This website:

http://bluray.lindsite.dk/
shows region 1 bvlu-rays tested on european players and shows whcih ones work. Also the import site I use has a PS3 so they test all their Blu-Rays and specify which titles work in EU machines as well.

I have a USA copy of: Superman returns, T2 & A Scanner Darkly and they all playback fine. Planet earth is not listed on that site (maybe because it is a documentary and not a film). The site I ordered from is £41.99 whcih is not bad for a 4 disc blu-ray set.

My e-mail is my Trust if you have any more questions.

I think the delivery charges from the place you are suggesting are very expensive once you add them on for international delivery.
