how can one tell if its the last cosworth to be made?

how would it be verified?

guess you find the official production numbers and compair that to the vin? would that work? Or you get someone in ford to dig out the vin of the last one made :)

Not worth half that...

Here's a few other things for under £30k

2005 Mitsubishi Lancer 2.0 EVO VIII MR FQ-320, £24,995, 8,500 miles
media

2006 55 Reg Subaru Impreza 2.5 WRX-STI TYPE UK, £25,750, 2,000 miles
media

2003 52 Reg TVR T350 3.6, £27,995, 8,600 miles
media

I have seen a mk5 cortina fetch half as much as that Cossie...

Its a piece of motoring history... and a brand new escort cossie.. or as close as you can get....

Worth every penny...

:D

Nice. From goode too, before ayone questions it's authenticity, I had a mate who worked for Graham and they do a damn good job with tuning there. Some of the work I watched them do was mesmorising.

The car will be immaculate and of the highest standard.

What was the list price on these when new, 26k? I know the last Sierra 4x4 Cossie was 25k, so 28k for a hardly used example isn't too ridiculous.

Yeah I wouldn't spend the cash but compared to what people had to pay to buy it new I guess some would see the value in it.

It doesnt say the last, it says one of the last.......would rather have the lux model that was on ebay the other day with only 9,000 miles, was up for £15k.

I think you're missing the point, if it's for real then I could see it making that sort of money. Somehow can't see any of your suggestions being worth anywhere near that amount when they are the same age as that cossie.

Aye... but they aren't the same age! I know what you mean though - some people pay for old things. I totally understand for antique furniture, old house or a Jaguar E-type... but a Ford Escort doesn't come close to fitting into those categories.

Yeah, for real. Better price, better performance, infact better everything.
only at standard.
the whole point of the Escort Cosworth was it's to be treated as a start point.spend 5 grand or so on the Ford and it'll leave the Honda for dead.

the Escort Cosworth is a part of motorsport history.
if you cannot see howcome the last ever production model has an artificially high value and that people are prepared to pay it then i'm at a loss.
from reading your previous posts i already know you're a bright guy, that's why it's got me beat that you cannot understand why the high price.

that cossie is gorgeous, if i was in the money its something i would definitely have, that example is stunning and worth every penny the buyer has paid imo.

a piece of motoring history in your garage :D
