Anyone got £30,000?

....or a Jaguar E-type... but a Ford Escort doesn't come close to fitting into those categories.
But how much were E-type Jags going for when they were only 10 years old? and were they respected as much as they are now?

I reckon that in 20 years time a mint cossie will be worth a hell of a lot of cash.

Aye... but they aren't the same age! I know what you mean though - some people pay for old things. I totally understand for antique furniture, old house or a Jaguar E-type... but a Ford Escort doesn't come close to fitting into those categories.
'A' Ford Escort may not....but if this is 'THE' last one then that's a different matter.
IIRC the last Brooklands Capri changed hands for a good few thousand pounds more than the going rate purely because it was the last one off the line.

if you cannot see howcome the last ever production model has an artificially high value and that people are prepared to pay it then i'm at a loss.

Its not the last ever production model, its ONE OF THE LAST ever produced!

Still, impressive example, i wonder if theres any unregistered ones knocking about...

gotcha, i didn't check the bay advert, the OP stated it was THE last one so i went from there.
even so, with so few miles and being one of the last it's value will be higher than other models.

i can't say if there are anymore Aces unregistered, but i do know where there is a brand new, 20 year old unregistered RS200 that has never been run on public roads/taxed/MOT'd/insured etc.
the owner paid for it (£52k IIRC) and hasn't collected it.....yet.

What confuses me is, this one went for £28k, yet this one didnt sell:
