Anyone got a phase unit under an Antec p180?

I would really not like to try routing a Phase suction line past the PSU in a p180. Also when everythings in, the p180 is quite a cramped case so it would be a very fiddly opreation to fit it all even if you got it past the PSU.

Considered doing this myself m8 but you would need a longer head me thinks for it to reach the cpu area due to the lower PSU chamber. You could always ask mole to lengthen it while he is quietening it too ;)

Oh sorry easyrider, didn't notice it was you. Is it the same unit that you thought was too loud? If your sending it back to Gray Mole to be reworked, you could ask him to run the suction line through the bottom of the unit's case. That way you could have the unit sit on top of the P180.

Hi mate,

The unit is already been modded for the line to either go up or down.
So yes it could go on top.

However the unit is quite heavy and I'm worried about the vibrations and the "top heaviness" of the rig.

He's making it "silent for me" which is cool

I'm just waiting on delivery of the P180 off MM so I suppose I will have a clearer idea then.

Thanks for all the input. :)

You sure you want a p180? I loved the case at first, but tbh it really annoys me now. Its over engineered and feels far to cramped. Can't wait to get my v2000 back off Gray Mole so I have a cavern to play with.

Dunno TBH. :p

v2000 looks very nice.

Does the compressor and everything go in the bottom chamber?

I see you've had a change of heart on the whole selling up thing then?

mwahahahaha

very interested in how silent this silence is... how much for the silencing?

Yeah,

I figured I have to get it out my system lol :p

Only thing that was putting me off was the noise.I had to be realistic.I wouldn't handle that level 24/7

Hopefully the silencing tweak will work.He has assured me me thats its perfectly possible to have phase no louder than watercool still with subzero temps and hich clocks :D

the only thing that's put me off phase is the apparently increased boot times :( otherwise i'd be well phased up by now :)

Your pc still botts up at the same time it just takes a few mins for the phase to cool down.

To get to -25c when the pc boots takes about 3 mins thats it.

No biggy really.

heh

watercooling with 3x70cfm fans.

u won't get *quiet* phase, especially with that electrolux compressor.

it's not real advisable to keep shutting down/booting phase boxes daily either, the compressors prefer to be working 24/7 for best reliability.

ok,

not sure about 3x70 fans?

explain?

phase will never be as quiet as 'quiet' watercooling easy

the condenser and compressor both need a certain amount of airflow, i'd say at least 60-70cfm on each fan.....too little and your compressor will overheat and shutoff.

add the noise/vibration of the compressor and it just isn't quiet.

phase is a novelty, bet ya 50 quid even if you get the unit quieter you'll be jack of it within a few mths.....it used to be worth the gains for the hassle ...these days with c2d's hitting sub 4ghz on water with low-moderate volts it's just not worth the hassle except if you want to waste your life being a benching tool getting hard-ons watching super-pi :p
