Some woman won't goto the Circus as she has a mortal Fear of Clowns. CLOWNS for god sake.

I bet she's lying. That's such a trendy phobia right now, everyone's got it.

It's like 16 year old girls and being 'bisexual', they all want people to think they're scared of clowns.

I dunno why they all want to be lesbians who don't like circuses, but they do.

FACT.

first off, High-Five.

second, i don't know either, but even if they do, i don't have a problem with it.

Frogs, I'm a confirmed ranidaphobe.
It's not normally a problem but you'd be surprised how many times the monsters get used in adverts & stuff:(

If its not normally a problem then you cannot be diagnosed with a phobia.
If you truly had a phobia you would know about it.
Read post #70 again because we had to experience somebody with a phobia and its not pretty.

That's bad mate, didn't read it first time round:(
When I say it's not normally a problem I mean that I don't come in to contact with them normally, as lots of other Phobes do, so it's not usually a problem for me. I cannot look at real frogs, live or images. Cartoons or toys (or the word obviously) don't have the same effect so they're fine. I do not have a fear of them, that's irrational as they can't hurt me, yet my whole being convulses at the sight of them, that's irrational too:/

I actually lolled at that!
Same here. :D

I have great fears although not quite phobia's of things, I'll start you off with my fear of being in the middle of the ocean with nothing around me but water, I think this stems to the fact pretty much all fish scare me, in the garden centre near me there were these large goldfish, probably about 25cm big and I was really scared). :(

Oh and similar to that above point even on a game! That Jet Ski game for the Gamecube I got scared when I had to ride off further from the land, and on one level a killer whale jumps over you, and when that happened I have to say that I ran out of the room, it just freaked me out, Oh and on the GTA games I can't do the boat missions or go in a boat because I start breathing really fast and get worried in the sea. :(

That's the only thing I think I have the worst fear of, apart from having panic attacks about dying and not existing, spiders, snakes, needles and all that.

Looks like it could be a phobia then.
Too many people use the word phobia when they they really mean 'scared'.
Phobias are awful.
She also had a phobia with flying in planes and it was hell getting her to and from holidays.
Tears would start a week before but she knew to go on holiday we had to fly.
Big tears would happen on the plane but they would give her sedatives.
She used all the experience of the 18 month counselling on frogs and applied it to her flying phobia and this year she was able to board a plane, fly, land and everything else without shedding one tear.

Good for her:)
She obviously needed help & I'm glad you sought it & it worked. It's also cool that she knows how to use that experience in future situations.
My problems are less severe & were laughed at when I was younger (you'd appreciate that) so counselling is out of the question/not needed for me:)
