Anyone got the 1G HD2900XT yet ?

It was off the website it says:

(Note that this example assumes a 64-bit (or 8-byte) wide memory bus. If the memory bus were narrowed to 32 bits, then it would only transmit 4 bytes on each clock pulse. Likewise, if it were widened to 128 bits then it would send 16 bytes per clock pulse.)

So as you have a 256bit bus i doubled 16.

Hi,

No bickering about ATI/Nvidia please.

I just want to know if theres any improvements from the 512 2900XT and the 1 Gig 2900Xt and if so what resolution did the improvements show ?

Considering the 1gb models price I would much rather have a 8800GTX.

As I see it the last thing the HD2900XT needed was more memory bandwidth.

Although the 1gb of memory is nice the prce increase is a bit steep.

The memory bandwidth for that 7900GT is:

(1840*256)/8 = 58.8gb

Thats the way I have always worked out memory bandwidth anyway. (this way works out my 8800GTS memory bandwidth correctly)

there is one get up to date man  + it is estimated it will work better i mean better by getting better fps on xt

about 1 gig of memory maybe you got wrong as it said you need atleast 1 gig of ram to play normally

Here's a review of the card:

http://hardware.gotfrag.com/portal/story/38332/

A part of the final conclusion:

"In the end, the Diamond Viper Radeon HD 2900XT is an excellent final implementation of ATI’s R600 GPU. However, an excellent implementation of R600 seems to be somewhat of a pushover when its slated against NVIDIA’s now half-year old G80. We hate to say it, but this is not good news for ATI or AMD, whatever they call themselves now"

Ouch, just like the old x1950's with GDDR4 by the looks of it, couple of frames faster like they were over the much cheaper GDDR3 x1900's, and they want a whopping £329 , £95 more for an extra 2-3fps, who the **** are they trying to kid!!!!

Whoevers buying these have just been bent over and given it, thats a right royal ATi shafting, part 2, the x1950 XTX's being part 1.

/Agree the ram just isnt needed atm, I see this card as more of a "gimmick" atm.
