I'm having an absolute mare with a new TV upgrade! Brands and model numbers are blurring int one etc...

I bought the Sony Bravia KD55XD8005 last night on Amazon's flash sale for £769. It was already got on HUKD for £999 with a soundbar so I think the pricepoint is good, especially for a 10-bit panel.

However I read somewhere that only 2 of its 4 HDMI ports support 4K. Other sites though, like Richer Sounds, say all 4 are HDCP 2.2 (http://www.richersounds.com/product/tv---all/sony/bravia-kd55xd8005/sony-kd55xd8005bu).

A recent reviewer also says it doesn't yet work with his PS4 Pro in terms of both 4K and HDR.

Is there a way of checking features like this and is an update for the PS4 Pro going to be likely?

Any help very, very appreciated!

The sony site says "HDCP (2.2, for HDMI1/2/3/4" https://www.sony.co.uk/electronics/televisions/xd8005-series/specifications

And I think you will find it's a 8Bit+FRC panel.

Beaten to it.

Doh, couldn't find it on their site because I was looking for KD not XD on the main page :p. Looking at the stats it seems it was this that was being referred to:

4096 X 2160/24P (HDMI 2/3)

Where did you find the 8bit+FRC bit deuse? My main question is is it better than the LG 55UH668V for £599, especially if it's not a 10-bit panel.

it's 8 bit I have the higher model 8599 and it's 8 bit. Works with ps4 pro and hdr.

edges of screen at the top have terrible backlight bleeding in dark scenes and it stutters on 4:4:4 content. They are investigating for me at Sony. I bought it on launch day so I've had it 6 months and it was £1500. The current price is an absolute steal even with the issues.

I've seen conflicting info about the panel as well. I've seen quite a few sites specifically say it's 10 bit.

One of the reviews I've read (can't find it now) said it displayed their 10bit test pattern perfectly with no banding too.

I'm no expert though so I don't know if that definitely confirms a 10 bit panel or not.

It was off a US site. The 4096 X 2160 is 4K. You most likely never use it.

Probably not what you want to hear but it's just dropped to £769.99 in a flash deal on Amazon.

Edit - d'oh, you already got it for that price in a previous one :)

Yeah it's great so far. 4K and HDR looks great. Already trialled it on a variety of inputs including BF1 on PS4 Pro, Narcos through Netflix and Sky Sports 4K UHD through BT.

Quality is great. Coming from a good Plasma I'm sad to see "true" blacks go, but it's still pretty good. I like the Android OS so I'm not sure where all the complaints are from unless it's purely 2015 models.

The bezel is so thin it takes up about the same space on the wall as my old 51" Plasma and it's thinner than my finger which is great as I've got it wall mounted.

sorry for bringing up an oldish thread I just would like to know your views on this tv as it's on offer at the moment and I'm unsure about as some reviews are brilliant for it and others saying how the hdr isn't that good and the set bleeds colours! I just wanted opinion before I make the jump to 4K

I love this tv, have had it since end of november. Picture is stunning and the hdr content in 4k is still jaw dropping. Been gaming on it too and no noticable input lag. The speakers on the set are grand, not amazing but far from bad. My only complaint with it is the ui can be a bit laggy at times. No regrets at all with the set. If you do get one, you will need to go to hdmi options and turn on enhanced hdmi to get the hdr working, why it isnt on as default is beyond me.

I bought this in the flash sale too and the 'enhanced HDMI' setting took me a bit of time to find as well...

One curious issue is that the Netflix button on the remote doesn't work, yet Netflix works fine through the menu.

I also had to force it to reboot once (power off/on) when Weird Things (tm) happened tho I can't remember exactly what was up (usually I blame Sky Q for any weirdness and shrug).

Apart from that it's great - very slim and astounding picture quality. Just need to replace it with a 65" now! :D

Thank you so much for replying! I think most TVs sound output are all pretty bad my current Samsung isn't brilliant but I have 5.1 for it so that's one problem solved.
How's the picture is it good and I'm hoping to upgrade to a PS4 pro so wanna make sure it's suitable for that.
I keep reading how the set has bleeding issues on blacks as well? Do you find this?
One thing I keep reading is the set is 50hz and for PS4 pro 4K I'd need 60hz if anyone could help.
Thanks agin for the replies
