Large intestine = about 1.5m
Small intestine = between 6m and 8m

I thought the Barium enema was a singularly unpleasant procedure :(

Same here, in fact I was so sedated I was asleep both times. Had a minor sore throat after one of them that cleared up within a day.

Never affected my hearing though ;)

colonoscopy is pretty harmless your so sedated you cant remember a thing. :)

as for a endoscopy when i had mine it wasnt bad at all but it depends if he caught anything on the way down witch is comon aswell

Yup one of those pro digital slr jobbies, fit it with a decent macro lense, slap on a small flash and lube it up! It slips in nice n easy!

Indeed they can. My little brother had it done to check his kidneys when he was about 12. My Mam says she could hear the screams from the other side of the hospital.
He had no sedative as he had to be standing up at the time for some reason :eek:

Well they do want the highest res possible to get max detail! A little comapct disposable wont really cut it now would it! And imagine having to stick your hand up to wind it on again!

Had one many years ago, don't remember a sore throat but did burp and fart for the rest of the day lol

Opted for a local anaesthitic as well, the European Championships were on and didnt want to miss the game............ Holland v Rep Ireland I think. Wasn't sore but very uncomfortable.
 
I had a endoscopy a couple of years ago, no sedation, just a little anasthetic spray in the mouth:D

Wasn't too bad actually, i was more gutted that i couldn't see the monitor!

Barium=liquid chalk! i've had far too many of those!!
 
I’ve had 4 colonoscopies so far and nothing from the top. But from what ive been told I would much rather have a colonoscopy because they sedate you so much you cant even recall the events. Still, neither are as bad as a urine catheter, even if you are hopped up on morphine you still know its there; that said I’ve got one to look forward to in a weeks time, lucky me :rolleyes:
