anyone had MRI?

I've had several. Great machines, especially if you get to listen to some music while you're inside. :)

That's what i was thinking you can have music, i'm sure they have a panic button as well, as it is quite a small space, the worse thing is having to keep still for so long.

I'm sure i've been radio active too different scanner though ;)

I did say to Mrs S that they should make them out of clear perspex so that you can see what f=goes on inside, but she was not too keen an that idea.......mumbled and swore somehting about us engineer types....:D

I've had my shoulder done once and it was very tight once they had my shoulder in a cage, I am rather broad though.

Had one in Canada a few years go when I got a bit medieval on my knee.

They used an extremities MRI which was the size of a small fridge, just stuck my leg in and fell asleep for 30minutes.

And I believe they show broken bones - here are some images from my scan

I've had two MRI's. They're no problem at all.

My only compaint the terrible music they play when you're wearing the headphones in there.

I'm tired if listening to Pink over and over hahaha.

They can so broken bones, just as clearly as an X-Ray would though, they're mostly for other internal testing.

I hate the sound those things make, I go to a private clinic for it and they always have big comfy headphones for me to wear.

i've only had one and it was back in 1996 but i wont ever forget it and i was convinced it was hitting rythm and i was on the verge of tripping out!

I really didnt like mine, had full spinal (so head to pelvis inclusive) and it took about an hour in the machine. Longest scnning sequence was 20mins which is a very long time to keep completely still.

The noise is ok, pretty loud though as one ear plug became lose - i didnt get music either!

Worst bit is i have to have it repeated probably every 2 years for the forseeable and probably the rest of my life..yay!

The really good thing about MRI's is super fat people go to the Zoo to be scanned if they dont fit in the "human" ones because the big zoos have elephant size scanners :)

+1.

That'd be awesome. I'd definitely like to see whatever it is that makes the banging noise :D

Nothing to worry about although I can appreciate those who suffer with claustrophobia might have a different opinion. I had full body, and apart from the noise it was fine.
