I know, I know - just the thought of it makes mine want to retract - but has anyone had it done?
Circumstance brings me to a point where I feel I should seriously consider this, so would be interested to hear good or bad experiences. Is everything, erm, the same, so to speak?

Lol , yep had one after 4 kids, just first few hours after felt like a kick in the nads other than that yeah everything was fine after a couple of weeks. But think about it for a long time dont just make a rush decision and be totally sure its what you want as there are other alternatives than the snip. Just in my circumstances it suited me fine.

Had mine done beginning of April. Had a minor infection afterwards in one of the wounds, but they are very uncommon and rare, which kind of makes me special.

Bit achey afterwards, but wearing tight fitting underwear helps with that as stops it all moving about.

Everything is still 'the same' after the op too. You wont see any difference between a before and after shot.......;)

As davieg has said, it is a very big undertaking having it done. They can be reveresed, but that is one major op and the sucess rate of that is not that high iirc. That is dependant upon the surgeon too. I know with mine, he is a 'very thorough' man when it comes to the snip and takes about 3 times the amount of tubingout as other surgeons...guess he likes a high sucess rate on his ops.

I'm no youngster, I've got a son and step-son, 8 and 10 respectively, and the thought of becoming a dad again is just not on the cards. My wife and I both share this opinion :)

Don't wanna open that link at work, Mr K - is it full of horror stories?

Not at all, it's just a medical info about vasectomy, nothing too scary but sounds crap anyway.

I'm sure you would like to have a daughter some day ;)

Did everyone get their's done on the NHS? I'm interested in one but assume it would have to get done privately, wondering what the best approach would be there.
