Anyone having issues with xbox live?

I'd quite like to see an xbox live status page built into the dashboard. obviously we won't need to be told when it's down as we won't be able to get on in the first place!

but i think a page saying there's issues with the marketplace, or you can't recover your gamertag at the moment or we have cod4 matchmaking problems but we're working on it etc etc could be useful.

I just checked the status page again and it said "up and running" but in an orange box. I've also seen "up and running" in a green box.

does orange mean it's working, but only just? ;)
 
I don't think thats the best indicator tbh, the other day my sister couldn't connect and she told me there were 200k odd playing the game.

Aye it's not, sometimes it can take a while for that to update and the servers are running fine.
 
2 weeks and counting then, for a business like MS that is sure a long time to solve their flagship, so now you are whining about people whining about MS? changed days indeed, if you are happy your £40 is being well spent then fine, no need for you to read this thread.

Thing is Mr Men, Im not a fanboy. I give comments where they are needed, Whether it be Pro MS or Pro Sony, Or alternatively Anti either. And if it's okay with you, That's how I'll stay ;)

I'm happy paying £40 a year for live yes. Do the Maths, It's definitely below GCSE level so you should be fine.

£40 / 12 months = £3.33rec.

And considering the problems haven't been constant for a month yet, I'd say my money is still well placed.

So you have a problem with those of us who believe 2 weeks of problems is long enough?, what has fanboy got to do with it? But since you don't have any problem with your paid service not working right then really no need to browse this thread, unless your just seeking to annoy others?

So you are defending MS not being able to cope with the new Live members, despite it happening last Xmas also to a lesser extent, sorry but to me that is a bit silly, they should have been prepared, and they should have sorted it quicker than 2 weeks.

what is your problem? How many others are upset about, yet you choose to pick at my comments, seems strange, but I guess normal for his forum and certain members like you. I am not happy to have 2 weeks of problems, why do you feel the need to challenge that? does it affect you in anyway?

its probably due to your little cry bady incident that got you suspended then you went of in a huff and spammed half the xbox live users on this forum over xbox live with verbal abuse just like a big kid who's had his sweets taken away from him

Build a bridge and get over it. Every one is frustrated about Live being up and down more than a prossies knickers, but we can't do any thing about it. Have a bit of patience, as echoed above this is the first time in 5 years any problems have been had, other than the random couple of hours every 12 months.

"OHNOES, Live is down, quick every one jump about the PS3 sailboat."


I'll use that term at some point. I like it :)

[skip to the end]......but they weren't prepared were they. They got caught with their trouser's down and there's no amount of whining on the OCuK forums that will bring XBL back any faster. This is getting like the xbox official forums, where people think more whine will get a problem or generic concern solved.
 
People need to stop slating Microsoft - simple as. Their working on the problem and its obviously serious because its taking so long. As I said a gazillion pages back I think people need to just sit back and think what that company have actually done for us.

Oh and the legend that is Mr Men is back :p
 
Im not sure to be honest, bit skeptic as to whether MS could easily fix the problem by throwing more money on the heap. The evil one inside me reckons after this period live will be more stable due to less users and as such MS see no point in wasting money to make a service work well again for 2 weeks when after that point their efforts are above whats required and therefore wasted.

I promise i am actually a 360 lover, but i feel MS have let down the community a number of times. Has anyone ever answered the question of dedicated servers for games from MS?
 
lol - this is quite a refreshing thread :)

I only picked up my Xbox360 on 27th December so never really had any stable experiences with it. I actually thought it was my setup for a while as i could only game on and off for a few hours.

I'm on my free month gold, but feel a bit cheated as it's as good as money when you lay out £320 for a console.

Regardless, from what i've tasted this has got to be worth the patience and will renew when it's all sorted. GL to Microsoft to getting this solved quickly and properly as i'm desperate to get some COD rank climbing :)

So you think all these new users will want to keep the service in it's current state? think about the bigger picture a little, for a company of their size then I would expect things to be fixed a lot quicker than 2 weeks would you not? You say they are working on it, other than what Major Nelson wants you to know have you seen any evidence of Live being worked on? any updates appeared? How hard would it be to add new servers to cope with the new demand? 2 weeks is a long time.

Why should we sit back and think what they have done for us, I paid my money I want to play online, I can fully accept occasional outages, glitches and problems as they are very rare, but 2 weeks constant problems is not a service I want to be paying for, and I imagine lots of new users will be put off by it and put the service down as rubbish, when we all know it is not.

Why do you care if I am unhappy about 2 weeks of problems? if you are happy to accept it then cool, does not make you right.
 
People are well within their rights to be unhappy imo.

I'm sure there are many who aren't too bothered, but that doesn't make other opinions wrong.
