i think thats a far better way to spend the weekend :D  :D

I can't believe a few people have been bigging it up, i've never thought of a barn dance as a place to pick up girls tbh.

Oh, you have no idea :D

I'm from Dorset, so WELL into Barn Dances, proper rural upbringing. Get on the cider, have a laugh with the locals, it's really easy to get into. The best bit is that if you don't know what you're doing, everyone gets you up dancing. Before you know it, you'll be having an awesome time.

Its a far cry from the usual night out on the town!

fun, alcohol, an environment where you can actually talk to the girl...
sounds perfect to me

I'm 48 and don't worry much about being "cool" these days, but barn dancing AND in a church AND without booze, is pushing it a bit :D

Is this the type of event where loads of pasty women swing their bras around their heads (whilst dancing around a bonfire), revealing their flappy ****? and men cook massive stakes drenched in Beer? x
