Come on admit it who doesnt own a tv. How does it affect your life for the better, or worse. Infact whats your furniture pointing at if you dont own a tv?
Just curious i bet knowone here doesnt own a tv or even know anyone who doesnt.

I got rid of my TV about 3 years ago. One of my better decisions IMO, I no longer spend night after night sitting down doing squat.

That's not to say we don't have a TV in the house, there is Sky HD downstairs, but I must watch that maybe 4-5 times a month if that, unless we are in lost/spooks/top-gear season, in which case I watch those programs once a week.

I only used to have a B&W set that I used about four times a year for 30 minutes, until I met my other half.

Really, I only watch Eastenders and Big Brother. I do like watching the BBC news, though. :o

I didnt have one last year, but I gave in and bought a new one this year to go with cable (allowed me to watch Eurosport)

Only time I've not had access to a TV was when I was in Halls at uni.

There was a period of around 5 years where I watched hardly any TV (football, basically), but since moving in with my partner I tend to watch a lot more.

I've got a TV but never watch TV on it (not even got a TV license). I've got my game consoles hooked up to it but I think I've used it once in the past two months, I think I might move it to another room or something.

I haven't had one for years; the internet has more than met my [interactive] entertainment needs. Is my life poorer for not having a TV? Hell no :)

If I want passive entertainment I just read one of the many TV Licence 'threat' letters that plop through my letterbox; endless comedy to be had there.

I have a TV, but I pretty much only use it for watching DVDs/videos, just because my room layout doesn't allow for me to use my computer with its 24" monitor as a HTPC. I'm thinking of some organising is in need this summer hols though :)

no **** pump since 1.1.2006 :)

i have a 32" panel which i watch movies, x360 and net and the occasional select downloaded programme i.e tour de france

the great thing is no adverts or randomly turning on the tv to watch mindless crap :)

Might want to edit that sweary dude

I have a TV but going to uni has drastically changed how much TV I watch. The people in our common room always had Hollyoaks on a loop and so I pretty much stopped watching it. I got any shows I normally watched on DVD and the only TV I watch when I'm home now is sports, news/Newsnight, documentaries and the odd film.

Nope. I dont own a TV. Moved into a flat last year with no furnature etc and slowly bought things bit by bit and a TV has never come to the top of the list. Infact i seem to prefer not having one. I listen to a lot of music and if im at home in an evening i might listen to 5 or more albums back to back. Play games on the PC or on the net in general. Im not totally against having a TV but the license fee doesnt seem worth it for me. Think its £135? a year now. Plus i dont actually own a TV so id be looking at £300+ for me to have one. If i did have one i imagine i would watch it about 2-3 hours a week for the sake of it more than anything. TV can be a huge drain on a persons time (as can in internet  ) and some people feel complelled to turn it on at 7pm and sit there untill they goto bed.

Ive found 2 negative things from not owning a TV:

1 In general conversation if last nights TV comes up and you say that you dont have one you can get some very strange/mixed responses although its funny when people reply with "well, what do you do then????" Its obvious what they spend most of their time doing.

2. Been constantly harrassed by the TV licensing ("police action", courts etc and fines mentioned from letter number 1) who refuse to believe the concept on not owning a TV is possible

its my bestest friend :)

cheap, good looking, doesnt talk back, and provides endless hours of entertainment.

dont watch it 24/7 though lol. watch Heroes, Frasier, dvds, and the occasional film and the news. Ohh and the footy when its back very soon (about a month to go :D)
