No TV for about 8 years, probably longer, all it was ever used for then was Video Games anyway.

I find the label of weirdness for not having one is completely mutual, in that I find people with them weird myself, I find it quite bizarre when in someone else's place and they have a TV on churning out complete and utter pap and they sit there watching it completely hypnotised by it for some reason.

Trick is, to have one, yet not allow it to dominate your free time. There's a lot great, worthy stuff on television (and not just the usual American stuff people always hark on about), you just have to avoid the of pap that fill the majority of the airwaves. I would reccommend a set-top hard disk drive recorder - you can easily record everything you want for the coming week in 20 minutes and watch them back at your leisure (without annoying ads).

Pfft. I don't have one, don't want one, and don't need one. You sound like the TV licence people (who automatically assume that we're criminals and are lying about not having one  )

There's a lady in the office that I work in that doesn't have one either, her children don't seem to miss it.

I have a 24" monitor and the Internet. What more do I need? ;)

That said, I think that if I did have one, the licence fee would probably be worth it for Doctor Who, Spooks, Top Gear and BBC News 24, but that's just me.

Getting a PVR has changed how we watch TV. No more arranging your life around the TV, or cursing when you miss things you wanted to watch.

got my own TV in 2nd year of uni. Used my PC with tv tuner in 1st year. Don't think I used TV Tuner in first year unless it was footy on and I couldnt be arsed sitting in the kitchen.

Only use my LCD for xbox360, Wii, PS2 and probably on average I watch 1-2hrs of TV a day out of 16hrs of being awake.

Hardly use the TV when Im at home though, probably used it more at uni, could definitely not live without one for footie though, beer costs of going the pub for 8 games a week would be through the roof!

Thats was in the old days....

Now everyone sits in front of an LCD screen and looks completely hypnotised while reading complete and utter pap on the net... :p

Got rid of mine a few months ago, haven't missed it one bit.
Well... apart from not getting to watch top gear the other night...

But for films I just use my laptop, lie back and rest it on my knees (not my crotch, I value my sperm!), and if I have the GF round it's a good excuse to get cosy so you can both see the screen ;)

i own a few tv's throught the house but i never watch it unless top-gear season is on and the occasional friends while im eating maybe my wife watches a lot of tv

I have a television next to me, but I use it mainly for the Sony Playstation 2, which I very occasionally play.

I have more than enough entertainment on the Internet, and television these days doesn't seem too good, I like the engineering documentaries, and other science/mathematics based things. (I also like computer programmes, but these are rare it seems).

I only bought one for console gaming. It rarely gets used as a TV. Which bugs me because I still have to cough up for the licence fee.

I haven't owned a TV for over a year now, i find that the PC is enough if i want to watch something. When i used to have one it was only ever on as background noise while reading a book or for the news which i now can get more up to date on the web.

I'd die of boredom without a TV.

What are you supposed to do on those hangover days without one? :p

Massive fry up combined with watching a whole series of family guy or simpsons until your able to move again without feeling sick.
