Still having problems with T-mobile and now in regular communication with the exec office over data speeds.

Can you guys help me out?

Just need some t-mobile users to run a speed test (i use the speedtest.net app) and post up their results here, along with the plan you're on and your town.

Cheers

216ms
Up - 0.94Mbps
Down - 0.58Mbps

Norwich

213ms
Up - 1.1Mbps
Down - 0.22Mbps

Hatfield (I can see T-Mobile head office from my office window!)

The speed seems to vary a lot from test to test

Are you guys on the unlimited Internet offer?

I did get 0.35Mbps, complained a lot, then got 1.8Mbps, went away for 2 weeks. Came back and was stuck at 0.09Mbps. Then after more complaints I got to 0.94Mbps - they said this was due to mast problems around my area. So I drove 20 miles away and did speed test in view of a mast. Surprise surprise 0.94Mbps again, so its nothing to do with any mast issues.

I've got full signal yet every test comes in a 0.94Mbps, whereas before my holiday it was 1.8Mbps.

Manchester speedtest.net server:

233ms
1.50Mbps down
0.38Mbps up

Aberdeen speedtest.net server:

127ms
1.78Mbps down
0.42Mbps up

I'm just outside Edinburgh and get H with 3 bars (occasionally just 2).

For comparison I tried my Samsung Galaxy S II which has a vodafone sim and got:

Aberdeen server:

146ms
5.45Mbps down
1.93Mbps up

Didn't realise vodafone provides such good speeds lol.

Everyone offers better speeds cause t-mobile limit theres. I was stuck at 0.35 for a good awhile and after a few months complaining and soo much problems I know get 2mb.

However im not sure if anyone has noticed this but whenever I download files even if I have full bars on H after a little while it will start to switch between 3g and H and just limit me to 0.35 again.

Cant wait to leave them tbh oct 12th cant come fast enough.

Test Run 1

Server: Skipton
Network: Umts (3G)
Download: 1150 kbps
Upload: 449 kbps
Ping: 77ms

Test Run 2

Server: Skipton
Network: Hsdpa (H)
Download: 1840 kbps
Upload: 460 kbps
Ping: 67ms

That's only with 2 bars inside my house so like to think it would be better outside

Just had a call back from t-mobile exec office.

They said that technical support has looked at my speedtest data, plus that which a user email me on here, along with the stuff you guys listed.

They claim that i will only get over 1mb is I give up my unlimited internet and opt for 500mb instead.

That is just shocking, considering I previously enjoyed 1.86Mbps.

I argued the point, that I previously had higher speeds before, so there is no reason to be stuck below 1Mbps now.

She then said that she doesn't really know anything about speeds and that there is no point talking to her about it.

I argued that surely it is an issue for the exec office, if this problem has been running for months. When I signed up there was no expressed or implied terms in the contract, that my speeds would be restricted below 1Mbps (i know they added this information to newer unlimited contracts)

Anyway all she said was that technical support will call me.

I find the fact that the executive office can't sort this out absolutely appalling, and will definitely be taking this further.

Hey EP,

I've noticed you got all your speed caps removed in the end and was wondering if you new what settings they had to change to get the 2Mb download and 500Kb upload removed?

I'm getting around 1 - 1.4Mb down and 200Kb-350Kb in the centre of Brum.

Cheers

They added "Mobile Broadband Upgrade" to my plan:

300Min&300Text&Web(24)25 £21.28
Mobile Broadband Upgrade £4.17
Unltd Text Booster (FB) Free
Internet Included Free
Loyalty discount from your monthly line rental - £4.26
Monthly charge total £21.19

They then took the cost of that upgrade off.

Yep vodafone are brilliant as they arent generous in their allowances and so is largely uncongested. I do miss having 5mb+ speeds at all times throughout the day but 1gb isnt enough. Best network for people that use less than 1gb imo.

I had the upgrade then end up with slow speeds. 45mijs on the phone and I'm now unlimited data and capped at 2mbps so not too bad. I might have had more bargaining power since I noticed straight away within the 1 week window and said I'd cancel straight away
