anyone in cambs?

My gaming community is holding a LAN this weekend in March (Cambs), 80 people, no more spaces available but you could come and have a look and meet the guys, we have them twice a year. PM me for the website and details not sure if I can post it on here.

Or email in trust.

sadly i cant get there fella.

But how do you go about booking a hall or something?

thanks

Well we use a hotel, the hotel give us the conference room for free for 4 days, and reduced rates for the accomodation.

But we fill the hotel with thirsty, hungry geeks who spend loads of money. Been doing it for 10 years now and we get people coming from all over Europe.

When you can push a load of business their way you have a strong bargaining position. If its going to be just you and a few mates I would think you may have to hire the conference room on a daily rate.

ok, if some of you know huntingdon at all.
I gave a few halls a call to ask for permission etc, No set date still yet, but they said it would be fine and that it would be nice to do something like that, have loads of people playing games etc.

It was the montagu club hall in huntingdon,
there is a bar for alcoholic, soft and energy drinks, There isnt a snack bar as of yet, but could be arranged easily for a small fee. Which isnt bad at all.

They also have 30meg BT Broadband there which is setup in the hall, so network would be good.

They are willing to let us "rent" the hall for around £50 from around 11am - 9/10pm, this will include electric and internet usage too.

So i will be sorting out something within the next couple of days, for a list or some kind of sheet with all people that will be attending.

Your own systems will need to be bought, me and my mate jack can supply 1 righ each to someone that is unable to bring their own, so 2 rigs in total up for usage.

will keep you informed.
thanks

Central Cambridge here - I was a student here for the last three years and am now working here. I may or may not be interested in a LAN - I'm not sure I can be bothered with the effort of packing up and unpacking my setup twice in a weekend anymore!
