You mean if you redefine "deal" to mean paying 2-3x MSRP :p

Excepting the FE drops, that is. But I don't think you meant those, judging by your "lowered expectations" comment :)
 
Shame stores/sites cant have a cap on what stuff can be sold for, like a cap for 20-40% above retail price with the lower end for auction sites, might cut back on the effort of if its worth trying to screw people over.
 
AMD could re-release the 290X with the blower cooler and Nvidia could re-release the 970 with 3.5gb vram. If they priced them both at £400 they would both be sold out within a few hours.

PC gaming is dead to me.

Still running my 290x. Bought in 2013. I'd like to upgrade to something like a 6800xt if they ever drop to mrsp. Recently had to use the airgun reflow method after it died, so I'm on borrowed time.
 
I've already given up, been looking for a replacement from my 5700XT that I stupidly sold just before the 30 series release in the hope of getting one at MRSP. The 5700XT sold for £280 and been looking almost daily. I'm done now though.

Been using an older 980 but saw locally to me a full Ryzen 3600 system with an 1080Ti FTW3 card for £700 so quickly bought that and sold it with the 980 for £450 so £250 for a 1080Ti to me is exceptional value.

Can finally make use of 1440p gaming. I'll stick with this till hopefully everything dies down.
 
I gave up and just purchased a nice pre-build from a company that emphasises silence. Got the card I actually badly wanted, it only sells on two websites and goes on ebay for £1500 from ********.
