I know nothing about headphones with never owning any that cost more then about a tenner as am not one for wearing headphones myself..

I saw these in the shop and looked up the reviews from people on amazon and most were pretty good so I bought them..

whats your budget is a better question. In the £200 range, buy the sony i mentioned earlier, in the £500 range the beyerndynamic amirons are great but do lack bass for certain geners of music unless you do some pad change and bend the frame for more
tight fit.

They are overpriced relative to other headphones which offer better sound quality, this is undeniable but the simple fact is the average person won't notice or care... id imagine your niece will fall into this category.

Also lol at people telling him to buy studio quality headphones for a 11 year old girl... like she's going to give a ****, im fairly sure the beats logo alone will give her more joy than a flat response curve.

Agreed and the person who said noise cancelling is a gimmick...no it isn’t maybe for you it is but for many including me I find my Sony XM3s a god send whenever I fly.
