Anyone moved to a 3080ti from a 3080? or 3080 to a 3090?

The best thing to do cooling and noise wise is to go with watercooling, if you're spending £1500 on a GPU why not splash out on cooling? In terms of heating the case and room will a 6900XT really fix that? it's 300W v 350W.

I would never buy watercooling and I'm running a 3080ti. Why? Because it's far too expensive and I just don't want to spend the time to do it right and I don't have the expertise to do it justice but I'm sure I could learn it over a few builds. I'd rather just buy AIO version of GPU than custom waterccoling but I'm happy with my card it runs very cool. I do have the best case for airflow lancool ii mesh rgb and I maxed out the fans in it 6 x120 mm and 2 x 140mm. I also have AIO on the CPU so it runs cool.

There is no need to watercool IMO if you buy a decent case and use an AIO on CPU.

Nope but I'm seriously thinking about selling my 3090 to CEX for £150 profit and pick up a 6900XT instead, if only I could pick one up for the right price...

Its managing the heat thats driving me nuts its not so bad going into autumn now but over the summer its been a headache unless the windows open behind it and a fan blowing the air towards the open window it just heats up the room like crazy I'm tired of it. That and the noise from the CPU and other fans trying to deal with the furnace in the case. And thats with it undervolted.

A 6900XT isnt going to solve that problem for you. It still a 300W card... that heat has to go somewhere.

You either need to get parts with a lower TDP, or get the PC out of the room your sitting in so the heat gets dumped somewhere else.

While water-cooling is certainly the best way to get the lowest temps on your hardware, Im not sure it really is the best way for lowest noise. At least the way many people seem to run it.

Id wager my air-cooled system is quieter than most AIO or Custom loop systems. Highest speed my fans ever spin is about 1100 rpm on GPU, 900rpm on the CPU and 700rpm on the case. And no pump noise or water gurgles or burps to contend with. Im sure you CAN make a quieter WC system, but it seems most are more geared towards lower temps. Often see people with fans on the rads well over 1300rpm... + then you have the pump(s)

Water-cooling would also not improve his heated up room problem. It would likely make it worse if anything. It is likely going to be better at removing even more heat from the PC components and dumping that heat out into the room.
