Anyone noticed this?

It's not like there is some formed alliance, what are you, a conspiracy theorist? :)

People have different views, some people have stronger differing views than other's, some people dont give a damn. Who cares? :p

If you are after a super car that can do 3miles to a gallon and travel the speed of light, You can be sure that Fox will come along to recommend something you dont ask him.

No, you can be sure someone like you will come along and pretend thats what I do. When enough people like you do that, everyone else just assumes its true. It is for this reason that I rarely bother wasting my time giving people advice in What Car threads anymore, I can't be bothered with the pathetic backlash from people like yourself :)

Im sure someone with your intelligence...the babble can be decipher :)

Well I deciphered it as the same people dominate certain forums, which as even though this isn't true, it could possibly be percieved that way as the same people answer the same repeated questions.

This in turn is obviously going to happen due to (as Matt correctly put it) everyone having their own talents and knowledge base, or intresets, and as such they will be the primary advisors or those with the facts/figures.

So, what it comes down to is you've noticed the forum is, well, a forum?

Not formed no but i would admit to leaning towards certain posters. After time i think it is only natural to get to like certain members and there posting style. I also admit to backing these people up against people i know speak out there ****. I don't like the casual type poster who posts for kudos points, i like people like myself that speak from there heart and believe in what they talk about, they maybe wrong sometimes but i know they will also admit this and apologise or correct themselves as well.
It is only natural that people of similar beliefs are drawn together, those with similar attitudes, beliefs or interests will always be drawn together. Of course the same applys here.

It seems that El has made a valid observation about the nature of our forum... to continue the discussion we could ask...

Does it happen in other forums? Why does it happen here? Do other noticable trends happen here... and a discussion is born.

I'd say size and enthusiasm of the average poster give this forum contribute to what El has noticed...

I think what hes getting at is that the people that get noticed on the forum basicly only get heard, When you get Noobs that can come into arguments about Iraq or something and what they say will be completely ignored and then just a bit later on Virri or Visage or DirtyDog will say something really similar as what the noob said and every one will take notice.

So in other words to be noticed or taken seriously you need these:

A big E-penis, Make no spelling mistakes, Be good with grammer and have souces.

Well thats GD anyway :p

Please. Sorry i pushed a button. The quote i made was from motors and personally, i find it to sum you up nicely. It aint about what i say my friend, it is about how you come across. How many times have you recommended something one dont clearly want? You done it with me before so i know what am talking about. Aint nothing pathetic calling it how it is. :)

Edit

In case you missed the quote here it is again

Once again you were making him feel small which you have a habit of doing whether its an accident, speeding, a choice of car that does not suit you (do I need to go on...).

Wel of course it happens everywhere, not just on forums. I see it in meetings at work, discussions with friends, etc. Everyone has their strong points and what they think they know more about, and as such will voice their opinion. Be that right or wrong, they still do it, because they want others to see it from there perspective.

Take for example Fox (sorry dude) he will continue to advise people to buy a Mondeo if they are looking for what a mondeo offers because he knows more about them than is healthy and will has had first hand experience of them.

In the last year? Very few times.

You done it with me before so i know what am talking about. Aint

Thats becuase you have somewhat unusual car requirements. What are you supposed to recognise someone who changes his mind between buying a van, a 4x4, a coupe and a saloon on a DAILY basis? You've got no idea what you want to buy so I dont see how I'm supposed to get it spot on :p

Huh? I wont deny something i have said before, perhaps you mean rephrase my words? Arguing black is white depends on where you stand - what is black to me might be white to someone else. :) Oh i do back my post up if needed.

Yes.

It still dosent disprove what i noticed. :)

Indeed you have, one quite recently, when you told someone they were too young to get drunk and classed them as a yob. I can dig the thread out if you want the quotes in here. You then flat out refused you said it, when it was quoted for your very eyes to see.

You seem to argue the norm for the sake of it. As you say, not an insult, just an observation i have noticed through reading your posts.

Also, AGAIN, WTF is your sig about?

El.
It's just an opinion and everyone is entitled to one, of course over time posters will be recognised and proven for one reason or another that what they say is correct. If a dude has a post count of 5 and all those are informative intelligent points they will be listened to. If this is then backed up by members that you have known forum style for a good while then this only adds to that. This is all good mate not bad. What is bad is that long term trusted members are put off giving advise because they are attacked negatively by people who do not know them & have not taken the time to get to know them either, that is bad.

No-one missed the quote but quoting inaccuracies and treating them as gospel makes you as wrong as the person that first said it.

All i did was rephrase my wordings.....aint nothing wrong with that if people seem to get the wrong end of the stick with the original sentence or post.

Far from it. I would point out what i dont agree with or have a different view/opinion.

Someone will come along to explain. :)

No they wont :(

Im yet to see any noob even the most intellegent smart noob ever be taken seriously or listened to on here and lasted long enough to get over 100 posts and become a recognised member.

Most recognised memebers either sit and hide in SC untill SC spills out into GD or are the ones out in GD trying to make people laugh and frustrate people and post lots of pointless threads because they can :p

Ive not seen a noob with 5 posts really ever get taken any notice of yet

Edit: Your a 2004er, The forum was probably a lot smaller back then :p

When i started i remember seeing a lot of a certian memebers that were big and every one loved.
They ahve now mostly moved on and now we have a new lot. It seems that is what happens in this place :)
