Anyone old enough to remember Monkey Magic?

My wife used to love this, she's forever talking about it and seems very excited about this remake.

I'd never heard of it before!

Love the original, never knew there was a remake/reboot on the cards. If I remember right it was broadcast on BBC2 when I used to get home from school in the early 80s, sat down with my beans on toast with my brother and we were glued. I even made a replica of the staff from a curtain pole and two tins of black/gold Holt paint my Dad had laying around in the shed!

Loved Monkey, Many pearls of wisdom learned from watching this show.

Used to get so excited at the opening credits and then so sad at the end song which was a pretty melancholy song.

Actually the Monkey TV series gets remade in China every few years, and there a load of movies about the monkey king and journey to the west. But non of them hold a candle to the original one. The closest version of monkey to the original one was the brief appearance of Monkey played by Jet Li in Forbidden Kingdom.

I haven't seen this new version yet but i've had my hopes dashed to many times of the years

Loved this back in the 80's. Just read up on it and gutted to see the girl who played Tripitaka died years ago. Even with the shaved head she was hot.

I could be wrong but i don't think it did end, it was one of those "And they had many more adventures" type things.

Loved the original show as it was part of my childhood and possibly my first martial arts experience as a child alongside Kung Fu with David Carradine. Can't see this reboot going beyond it's initial season.
