anyone on here ever been fleeced?

Someone managed to get my debit card details, spent £20 in london randomly, but I got a call from my bank to tell me, blocked the card, refunded my money and sent me a new one a few days later. Was pretty impressed by how efficient they were to be honest.

I don't actually want to type this, but none of my immediate family including me have ever been caught, i'm touching wood as we speak (the real kind of wood, not what your thinking)

lmao i wasn't thinking of it until you pointed it out hehe

i got fleeced more times than i wanna say by shop salesmen I really hate them as I'm not good at selling or saying no. I want the item they are selling and want to believe i really need it so I'm salesman fodder...

Had credit card done a couple of times. First time I knew what happened as a website I used for R1 DVD purchases had their DB hacked. Second time was only a few weeks ago and I really don't know how that happened at all.

Both times, the cred card company were awesome and got it all sorted straight away.

Never, after a lot of internet & eBay transactions. I'm sure it'll happen eventually.

I'm off to touch everything wooden in the house now.

Some kid took £250 off for me a graphics card and decided to never give me it. Luckily I did it through PayPal and got my money back from him after I found everything out about him, just from searching on the internet. Told him I would come to see him myself and get the police involved. Gave me my money back pretty sharpish after that. Among things I found out where he was Christened. :D

I lost £5 to some cute girl at a pub :( She was meant to be buying, but ran off with my money.

Ah well :/

brother gave a bought a ps3 off him for 300. he paid by bank transfer. needless to say he never recieved the ps3. I called him a tit and he never even bothered chasing it up lol.

I've never been scammed/phished online, and never been a victim of fraud. I do however have a history of being a complete sucker when it comes to con purchases. I've bought worthless speakers out the back of a van, and a discount card for a restaurant that didn't exist :( Now if anything feels too good to be true I presume it is, but usually after I've spent the money. Was massively worried about my galaxy arriving from Germany, the seller didn't speak any english and as with a lot of german listings didnt use paypal. Turned up safe and sound in the end, was just papping myself the whole time until it did

Had someone buy plane tickets via my Egg card, about £500. All of which was covered/dealt with by Egg with no hassle at all.

Just bought a 2nd hand car for £2600. The guy was going to send his mechanic round to fit a new Lambda sensor and then do the MOT for me today.

Not heard from the guy since and he never returns my calls.

I took the car for MOT myself on Wednesday. It's costing me about £500 to get the Lambda sensor and MOT problems sorted.

Looking on the bright side at least I know the car is sorted by a good garage and will last.

Oh, and I did an AA search on the car to. Turns out it's a Cat D write off. It was written off in 2004. It'd had a front end smash. Everything looks straight so it's not a death trap. I'll keep this car for a good few years as I'll be honest when I sell it and say it was a CAT D, this'll mean I have to sell it cheaper I guess

I'm never buying a 2nd hand car ever again!

i had my coat stolen from my car once, had my driving licence and 2 bills id used to rent a van earlier in the day.

needless to say over the next 2 years, ive had 2 mobile phone contracts, a bmw m3 convertible in my name and someone rented a caravan and didnt take it back (obvious ******)

Hmm, it would be in your interest to get your credit file info to see what you currently have on it, if you have not already.

My sister and her partners online savings account got emptied while they were on holiday so were none the wiser till they got back.... over £5000

They got in back though....and they no longer have savings online.

Not personally, but my brother lost a PS3 (when they were still worth money) by sending it to an unconfirmed address belonging to a buyer with dodgy feedback.
