Thanks...I like it. It was very easy to set up though it took a while for the firmware updates to complete. We have one point in the kitchen which the family loves as they use the assistant and play music on it. That point projects a nice field in the garden too. One niggle I had was the lack of features for power users, there's no VPN so I had to set one up myself on my raspberry pi.
Wifi performance is fine though my needs have reduced somewhat, I no longer own a laptop and only use a tablet. Anything that needs bandwidth (the chromcast ultra and raspberry pi) are wired in.
Yeh, the question is getting a three piece Google Wifi setup vs a two piece Nest setup. ie: They're supposed to cover approx the same area.
Are both your units downstairs? And they project/cover OK upstairs?
The nice thing about the Google units is they do offer ethernet ports for wired backhaul. But of course the Nest units are more modern and have higher spec's accordingly.
Do you have to use Nest software to install them? And once setup can you just use the supposedly superior Google Wifi App? eg: To look at device usage over periods (eg: An Xbox's usage over the past week).
