You'll end up with the Seagate one rather than Maxtor these days but it's the same stuff. Just make sure you get the windows one rather than the bootable version, the bootable one might not recognise the USB ports.
So I ran the Seagate/Maxtor bootup DOS program and did a test... If found loads of 'LBA errors'... And gave me the option to fix them... Which I did...
I'm now running it through again and it's find more...
Now I assume these are actual surface errors? It wouldn't be testing data integrity etc? So surely this shows the disk is borked?
