in Aberdeen right now, I have lost SKY signal, and the thunder and lightening is totally UNREAL!
Wow! I'm not too far away from you and I agree it's crazy!
We had nothing all night then suddenly 1 huge flash and a bang. Never heard lightning like that before and I genuinely thought it was a bomb or explosion. I closed all the windows and moved through to the back of the house.

So I guess I have to vote yes, I am scared of lightning.

Havn't had a decent one for so long I've almost forgotten what they're like best we've had lately is some faint rumbles in the distance and and far away flashes. House in a neighbouring town's roof was struck last night you'd have to be crazy not to be a little bit concerned during a storm.

He said lightning not kung fu fighting,
But lightning is as fast as lightning. Keep up with the programme.

I'm always respectful of the damage it can do but not frightened by it - awhile back it got a house pretty good in the next village over - massive rumble and blew all the mains cabling out of the walls in the house it hit shredding the place with high velocity shrapnel - very lucky the renters had moved out the week before.

In Southampton and lost NowTV broadband, part of Sky, currently using Three on my mobile for waking up interweb fix.

I actually find low rumbles of thunder quite soothing and relaxing, the overhead cracks of thunder can make you jump but I can't remember the last time I've had that, maybe not since childhood

I will go for the frightened option but there's a difference between a townie in the city snuggling under the blankets finding it comforting compared to a constant cliff top walker caught in another storm its about having respect for the power of nature ,we constantly and unfortunately drag bodies out of the Atlantic all the time of people vastly underestimating natures power

Holy moly! Unrelated to this thread I was reading about lightning and didn’t realise how common it was. 3 million lightning strikes per day, or ~45 a second, somewhere in the world.

I’m sure those afraid of it will be glad to hear such stats :D
