I had a lovely cut-throat razor until it got confiscated by customs It was the type you had to sharpen with a leather band. Best. shave. ever. The crappy "bic" ones rip half your skin off, but fortunately I haven't got overly sensitive skin, however it still not the nicest shave in the world. Mach3 blades are expensive, but they do shave thick beard (as I have) pretty well. Then again I go for the stubble look anyway so I seldom shave more than twice a week
I have even more stubble than MB! I can't ust electric shavers - they just don't work properly on my beard - or they take about twice as long as a wet shave.
Ultimately cut-throat > * - but it's more of a pain and more skill required. I think I may treat myself to one again - but I must remember not to use it in my travel bag....
