lol is it easy?

and whats this safety razor malarky?

i use either a sensor 3 or an old fasioned disposable bic razor (which i steal from my dad ;)) depending on how long i've left it..
usually i just shave once a week, which results in me looking like some kind of hobo @ end of week :(

I knew a girl once who used to use a razor, after about 10 minutes she said "you gona do anything or what", to which i replied "hang on im just reading the paper". :D

I have a boots safety razor I use when I haven't shaved for a few days and an ordinary razor would clog up. Normally I use tesco disposables, twin blade, swivel head and they have the longest lasting blades I have ever used - £1.50 for 10. For shaving cream I have used hair conditioner for a few years now and it works great. You can buy a 500ml bottle from boots for about 30p :D

Lol, my barber back home gives me a quick shave when I get my hair cut with on of those. By quick, I mean the back of my neck and sideburns. It's quite amusing really because you always think he's about to cut your throat or something :p

When im in the shower (before I shave) I always put conditioner on my facial fuzz then when I get out and put on the shaving soap its really soft and easy to shave.

As for the conditioner currently its that treseme stuff, just depends what the mother/sister buy and leave in the shower:D

Best shave you can get with one of those imho, i usually get one done every few weeks when i go to my barber and he does a damn good job. Although my face afterwards feels like its on fire :p but at least it stops me shaving for a good 3-4 days afterwards.
Usually ill shave with a mach3 vibrator thingy, seems to do the job pretty well imo. Never would use a bic disposable shaver...i dont think id have a face left tbh...those things are the nastiest things one can put close to their faces...its like cutting an artery the way they slice your skin apart lol.

Whats the point of rubbing mustard over your face if your just going to shave the reward off

can you use saftey razors with highstreet shave gell, or do you need the brush and shaving soaps? i'm tempted to give one a go as i just don't seem to be able to get a decent shave out of even the very expensive razors... but i suffer really badly from non-sensative shave gel :(

Here is a really good article on shaving:

http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/6886845

The shaving foam/lather etc is just a buffer to help the razor glide across your face so yeah you could probbly use a safety razor with standard shaving gel.

The author suggests simply upgrading to using a badger hair brush and decent glycerine based shaving cream will give you better results than using a Mach 3 plus some shaving gel.

They do also make shaving creams for sensitive skin. Drop the people at the shop I bought my gear from an email and I am sure they will be happy to help.

Okay I got all my stuff through the post today. Gave it a go at the old five o clock shadow.

I don't recommend it for people with sensative skin. My face feels like it is on fire and is very dry. The shaving cream doesn't offer a lot in moisturiser so you will need some sort of after shave balm if you are a metro :) You realise how much gunk is in the gilette gear as my face feels a lot different to when using that.

However, most importantly, the closeness of the shave is easily as close as I got with a mach 3 if not closer. Real test will be on the weekend when I will let the beard grow for a couple of days and hack at it. There is a trick to getting the right angle with the blades but I am sure I will master it. And I only nicked myself once!

Overall, definately recommend it for those with a tougher beard looking to save money. If you have a sensitive face then you may need some sensitive shaving cream/after shave balm combo to stop the burning. But I quite like the fiery feeling!

i don't understand how anybody can use those razors with the metal bars on them - they are terrible, unless you want a permanent stubble.

no i mean they don't get close at all - they have a metal bar in the way!

this makes them useless - do they actually work on other people?

Wilkinson Sword Protector - A blade so sharp, it has to be kept behind BARS!

Anyone remember that ad? :p
