Anyone using Intel SRT?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to figure out the best way of utilising a 256GB SSD in my system primarily used for gaming as well as video/audio editing. The options so far are:

-1: Use the Intel SRT technology on my motherboard (Asus P8Z68-V) to cache my main HD (1TB 7200RPM) then use the remaining space for my Steam drive. This would give me the best performance for games as well as decent OS and other program performance.

-2: Clone OS to SSD along with Steam drive and as many other programs as I can fit. Best performance overall but less performance from programs not on the SSD.

Basically, does using SRT provide any significant advantages over just putting the entire OS on the SSD or should I just use the second option above?

Any help/advice greatly appreciated.
Thanks.

ive used both wys, having os on the ssd and on the hdd and caching it with 60gb ssd

you can only use upto 64gb to cache a hdd with so idk if partitioning 60gb of ssd space would work ive never tried it

both ways are just as fast imo caching and ssd/os,its just a tad slower at start up with caching thats all, maybe 5-10 seconds slower but everything else is just as quick
