Diesel pumps are always covered in a greasy film because petrol largely evaporates when spilt and diesel doesn't.

Sorry Fox, but that isn't true.

My made had a 306 DT, and he put about £5 of diesel down the side of the car and on the forecourt.

Always wear gloves (assuming they have any) . Hate the smell of derv . Question is why would you not wear some ?

Probadly would, but where i fill up never seems to have them. The smell of diesel on hands stinks.

i use them all the time, infact if they dont have any gloves, i get some tissue paper thing and use that around the pump handle

i either use the gloves or the paper towels. i really hate the smell of diesel.
