Hi,
I'm looking to get an empty Lucozade Sport bottle (as per here) - one of the ones with the new(ish) valve cap, where you can either squeeze the bottle or suck and the fluid comes out, then when you release the pressure it self-seals. I need an empty one, before any Lucozade goes in, because I want to use it as a water bottle and once it's had Lucozade in the taste never goes away.

I've tried contacting Lucozade customer service and they can't help. So I'm posting here in the (probably vain) hope that someone who frequents this forum works at Lucozade, or the supplier for their bottles, and is able to get hold of a couple of them for me before the Lucozade gets added. There's a fiver in it + postage for anyone who can help!

Alternatively, if anyone could point me towards the same style of drinks bottle but sold with only water in (or empty, of course), I'd appreciate it.

Thanks in advance.

I challenge anyone to walk into a shop and buy what I am looking for: a bottle with a self-sealing valve cap, empty or with unflavoured water in.

You don't have to like what I'm looking for, you don't have to understand it - but it fulfills a different purpose than the 'default' water bottle design of either a wide open bottle top or a silly valve you have to pull open with your teeth/hand whatever.

you need to buy a proper bottle. getting a crappy plastic one from lucozade is retarded as it will only last a few uses and you arent supposed to reuse them too many times anyway as the plastic can start to release chemicals into the drink.

Sounds healthy :D

I think he's one of the few people who is, quite a lot of shower gels have the same thing, also squeezy bottles of sauce(ketchup etc) do.

Considering how blannd lucozade sport is I'm surprised you can't just empty one out, give ti a soak in some hot water first and you'll be fine

Hmm, I'll have to look more into that. Although obviously ketchup and shower gel bottles are out for even worse reasons than the lucozade :p

Stop feeding the troll everyone. 24 and has never picked up a sports cap bottle of water *sigh*.

This isn't a troll thread. If you don't like it, you don't have to read it. I'm looking for a specific thing and hoping someone can help point me where to find it; by all means join in a discussion here as this is what the forum is for, but please try to refrain from making ill-thought-out accusations.

Thanks to Abraham for confirming my thoughts on their availability :(

Haha, no it doesn't. I've washed plenty of bottles and they do not taste of the washing up liquid. Think of any cups/plates/knives and forks that have been washed with washing up liquid, do they all taste of it?! No. :p

Plastic is different in that molecules of whatever get stuck in the uneven surface and then get slowly released - that's the reason it tastes of lucozade after washing out in the first place. Cutlery and cups - made from metal and glass - do not have this problem.

However, I'll take that under advisement :)

:S codswollop ! Ive been using my empty lucozade bottle for months for the gym, i fill it with water, and it tastes of well....WATER ! nothing else

Err what? either you have incredibly sensitive taste or your extremely stupid.

this thread fails!

This isn't for myself - personally I couldn't give two hoots whether my water tastes of water, and I rarely have occasion to drink bottled water. It's a favour for my mum, who apparently can taste the difference.

evian bottles DO use the same valve. got one here. rubber disc with cross on it

i advise just washing your lucozade bottle properly though.... rinsing with water is NOT a wash

Cool, thanks, parfait. :)

On that note, and a successful resolution of the problem, I vote for a thread closure, seeing as the number of silly comments is increasing.

To the OP. Assuming you aren't trolling, you need to get your mum some help if she thinks she can taste anything but water in a washed out water bottle. Or you/her can't wash up properly. You buy ANY water bottle, fill it with water having washed it out if you so wish, and drink it. Any more complex than that and you need to do a reality check.

Not so. At least, certainly not with just a rinse.
