Yup very par indeed, over 50% faster in BF1 the i7 950 is, Over 50% faster the FX is not.
 
Only if you bottleneck the test.

Context needed. 2009 i7 with overclocked RAM and £400 graphics at 1920x1080 on ultra is faster in Battlefield 1 than a stock FX 8 core. Yay?

So people should run out and buy 7 year old systems to pair them with top end graphics cards an 1920x1080 144Hz TN monitors?

What are you trying to preach here?
 
I am unsure if you got slapped up the side of your head before you came into this thread, but title... Plus i also mentioned X58's value for a person on a serious budget, also a very fun platform too. ;)

Ah so it's a budget thread. Pro tip don't bother with X58. The motherboards cost a fortune at auction. Look at AM2/FM2 hex/quad cores and older midrange cards like the R9 285's and R9 380's.

What auctions are you going to? x58 boards in general do cost more than an AMD one, however the CPU cost is significantly lower.

And i agree yanks have a hard time understand us British folk, problem with Brits is knowing when they are wrong.
