Anyway to find changes to network?

Over the last couple of weeks my EE signal at work has pretty much died. I've always enjoyed full or close H+ but it looks like those days are gone.

I'm now struggling to achieve 1 bar of G at times and on the odd occasion I manage to register a HSDPA signal its dropped off in a flash. I've tried a couple of times to speak to EE customer services about it but I may as well ring my Grandma because she would have a better idea and make more sense.

Data is not the issue as I have Wi-fi at work but not being able to receive calls is proving to be a royal pain in the anus (I use the handset for work), so I'm wondering if there is anyway to find out what network changes have been applied (if any) and if they could have been detrimental to the coverage.

I've not changed my phone, software or location and the handset is a Galaxy Note II though I don't think its anything to do with my handset as a colleague of mine is suffering from the same issue on his HTC One.

One way of doing it would be trying to identify the mast you're on (Cell ID aka CID) and working out if it's changed. Do you run llama or something that triggers off geo ring fenced areas? It's going to be hard to do retroactively unless you have a system that checks for masts etc...

EG I can see I'm on 46333165/234/15 (CID/234 = UK/15=Voda), if you have this info it's at least a start. Other apps will give you the CID, llama's just popular so there's an outside chance you have it already.

It could be EE removing a mast that was near you. Since the merger EE's been trying to tidy up their network by removing uneeded masts (no point having an orange and t-mobile mast so close together). Unfortunately this does mean less coverage in some areas.

when o2 removed their mast at the end of the road I used to live in and my signal went from full to nothing, they denied it to the hills. I had a few conversations with them where they insisted that the mast was still there until one day, this changed to them having no record of ever having a mast there. Luckily, I was at the end of the contract so I just cancelled. Good luck.

I do get the impression these people are trained to never say "nah, can't see you getting a signal there"

I suspect it may be a mast being disabled but getting any reliable information is difficult at best.

In terms of cancellation I'm on a 30 day sim only deal but as I only pay £7.50 p/m for 500mins / 500 txts / 1gb data I'd rather not cancel as this suits me perfectly.
