An order cancellation is possible. I havent seen anybody claiming in any reddit, forum entry, yt videos, etc. that they have received a 3090 xtreme.
There is just nothing other than a Gigabyte-owned unboxing video. Nvidia made a perfect paper launch ******* in their pants that AMD could have beaten them and/or uncrown them for a certain amount of time of having the fastest gaming chip - the fastest RX6xxx is faster than the 2080TI.
Nvidia played dirty and has released a card which wont be available for further 4 months most likely - so, in total it has been released 6 months too early. They have released it trying to take the wind out of AMDs sails but at the cost of customer satisfactory. We certainly need more competition to beat the arrogant politics of those companies.
Board partners are just pawns in this game, resellers feel the stick but doesnt care at all - especially about scalping opportunitists. Everbody is just pointing to each other knowing the game at the cost of the customers.
This is for the 3080 Xtreme, not 3090. I was position 2. I moved 1 position. This means position 1 would have had to cancel or get a card shipped. Considering I ordered launch day, and position 1 would have had to beat me (obviously) they too have been waiting over a month. For over a month they haven't cancelled. You're telling me, 2 weeks after OCUK tell us they're expecting a very small (5-10 likely according to giga-man) of 3080 Xtremes, the person in position one cancels and I move to position 1.
Sorry, not likely in the slightest. It's more likely that either A) They only got the one card, and shipped only 1 card or (the most probabable) B) They did indeed receive the 5-10 expected cards, and they only shipped 1 for whatever reason out of that batch.
Either way, it's all very suspect. If you put all other competitors (who wont be named for rules) on a list of how many 3080 Xtremes they got, it's on average 5 and sometimes 10-15, and you're telling me OCUK got 0 and a cancellation (who was first in the list for one)? Yeah no that makes zero sense.
God knows when the next shipment of Xtremes are, heck even masters at this rate. We hear absolutely zero, we know absolutely zero, and we're seeing absolutely zero deliveries.
It's all fair saying Nvidia messed up, but that's no excuse for OCUK to be radio silent on these forums. Some of these cards are £850+ and we're sitting ducks just twiddling our thumbs because OCUK can atleast say "We got X and we sent X". Instead it's very vague and we don't honestly know the number they're getting and the number they're sending.
Add ontop that OCUK are still taking preorders and making prebuilds, and you're in a world of head scratching decisions. Add on the top of all of that OCUK said point blank they were one of Nvidias best partners and you're left wondering why they're in the worst position then of all retailers in the UK right now for pretty much every 3000 series stock. Makes you wonder a tiny bit.
