APB Beta Keys, get em while their hot

U best read the basic guide. Things like u go to a spot with a car symbol and press f 10 or something to spawn ur car, buy weapons certain places. Links from the loading console.
 
Well the tutorial was laggy at first but I got past that, but as soon as I entered the proper district it was so laggy it was unplayable, every time I got a mission I couldn't kill the opposing player because of the lag, and half the people were constantly crashing vehicles into walls and people because it was simply not playable. It wouldn't be as bad if all the missions didn't have a chance of the opposing team getting a mission to stop you, because PvE would be a little more playable.
 
Heh, welcome to the beta. Everyone but Heavy Hitters are here just to stress the servers. No wonder they're giving away so many keys now, I'm guessing the turnover rate is pretty high.
 
For some reason turning the graphics down to minimal got rid of the lag for me, unsure why. Couldnt be arsed to stay the full time tonight anyway, didnt think that much of it.
 
I got a kill streak of 5 in the financial district. I didn't upgrade the starting gun though. I found I had most advantage if I just ran up to someone and without aiming strafe them. I got taking out when I tried to copy someone using a corner to lean.
 
Think I'll give up on the game, limiting the play time to 4 hours of which was quite laggy (especialy at first) sucks. If they want to entice me to buy the game then they have to show me it's worth it, something you can't realy explore and try stuff in 4 hours.

Q:If i exit the installer will the download restart from the beginning or where it left off?
A:The download will start from where you left off, it will appear to have restarted from the beginning as the progress bar is reset however if you compare the size of the downloads it will have decreased

It's a BETA. They're not trying to entice you to buy it. They're getting you to TEST it.

I know it is a beta, but nevertheless the vast majority of people who play a beta use it to decide if the game will be worth buying. Also I look at how the beta is run to form an opinion of the devs.

There are some interesting things, and I think the concept has potential to be a lasting MMO (unlike the majority of MMOs that have come out recently and just died off) but I'm not a fan of how the beta is run, and some of the gameplay issues.

Yes I know bugs should be expected in a beta, but look at games like WoW, I played US beta and that had its fair share of bugs but I considered it to be a game that had solid gameplay and it simply worked. There are some things with APB that I consider 'core' elements of the game which are a little iffy.

Even if it is still a beta, MMOs these days simply can't afford to overwhelm players with negative sides about the game. They need a large positive crowd even in the beta stages for the game to be survive after release.
 
Signed up with my beta product key from the start of March but thats unfortunately not qualified me for any better access then the one right now.

They could at least let people log in far enough to run a graphics test, no idea if this is working or when we are allowed to play that I may spend 4 hour reinstalling it for some reason and get it working just before it closes again lol
