APB beta

More details on the subscription plan for this "no subscription" game. Release date July 2nd.

Gamers can purchase a retail version of APB either in-store or via digital download at standard retail price of SRP $49.99. The game includes 50 hours of action gameplay out of the box plus unlimited time in APB's social districts customizing, socializing and trading in the marketplace. Once the 50-hours are up, players have flexibility: top up their game time from as little as SRP $6.99 for an additional 20 hours, or opt to purchase a 30-day unlimited package for only SRP $9.99 with discounts available for 90 and 180 days. In addition to this flexible payment model, players can also earn game time by actually playing the game. APB provides avenues for accomplished gamers or creators to earn rewards for their creativity and subsidize their ongoing costs with their in-game efforts

Don't think I'll bother, doesn't have enough depth of gameplay for my liking would rather spend time playing any normal multiplayer game - rts, fps etc Even though I don't like CoD MW2 it seems that it has more character development than this game. Although at least with the 50 hours gametime with the initial purchase it would probably give me 2 months free play compared to the 1 month free with most other mmo's, based on my usual mmo play time of about 6 hours a week anyway.

It never was a 'no subscription game' it's just that no subscription was ever announced.

I think it's a great idea that you can pay for game time by playing, and the social districts don't eat into your game time.

there was always going to be a 'subscription' for APB, free to play MMo's always lack in gameplay and support and the options available for this game are better than most.

hurry up sunday !..

Over on the website for Realtime World's cops 'n robbers MMO, APB, the FAQ area has some information on what players of the game won't be paying: subscription fees. http://www.destructoid.com/realtime-worlds-confirms-apb-will-have-no-subscription-fees-144552.phtml

APB Will Have No Subscription Fees http://www.1up.com/do/newsStory?cId=3175575

"The actual price for the game itself is still under discussion. We can confirm that APB will not require a monthly subscription," says the FAQ on the official APB website http://cinemablend.com/games/No-Subscription-For-APB-19269.html

An All Points Bulletin/ APB FAQ clarifies that Realtime Worlds' upcoming open-world action game will not carry any subscription fees http://www.bluesnews.com/s/101188/no-apb-subscription-fees

Realtime Worlds has revealed that urban MMO APB will not require a monthly subscription http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/apb-requires-no-monthly-subscription

Maybe technically you don't require monthly fees but you need to pay periodically.

I just can't bring myself to pay subsciption fees. I'm the kind of person who games intensively for a while but have other hobbies to dedicate my time too. It's a shame is I really like the look of this game apart from the lack of location damage, no more headshots :(

Did not know this, always assumed it just didn't have a pricing model!

Bit of a shame then, still going to buy it and see how much I can earn in the time given, seeing as the social district is always free then designing things to sell shouldn't eat into your game time.

Yeah depending on the conversion rate they use that $6.99 for 20 hours could be a good price compared to other mmo's, especially for more casual players who would only have 1 or 2 play sessions a week.

Where do you buy new guns in the game? I've found ammo places inworld but no gun stores?

I'm sure I'm missing something obvious! :D

You buy them at the contacts. To equip you need to bring up the inventory or locker near the ammo dispenser, it's either I or L.

Next session should be starting soon, I wonder if the matchmaking is still going to be as unreliable as last weeks. Half the time I was pitted against two and on some occasions 3 or 4 before with backup only available after they'd taken the objective.
