**** Apple Event "Spring loaded" - 20th April 2021 @ 18:00 UK time ****

Who is that, some YouTuber? Everyone on there seems to be a professional reviewer.

Probally the biggest and well respected tech reviewer on YouTube.

I love the flashy production of his videos but he's more of an expert in reveals than he is for actual reviews. I think Flossy Carter does my favourite reviews but he only really does phones and headphones

It depends on what you want from a review. If your looking for an in-depth analysis of every feature and in-depth comparison to all its rivals then MKBDH isn’t the reviewer for you.

If you want a ‘does this work as advertised and is it any good in about 10 mins’ then his one of the better ‘mass market’ reviewers on YouTube.

It’s a bit like comparing a Linus & Gamers nexus reviews. Both are generally good but are targeted at different audiences. Linus goes after the mass market, gamers nexus goes deep into the detail that most are not worried about.

Except the fact that he continuously posts nonsense and incorrect information, hardly fair. He's known because his videos look good, and because he has a good presentation. Not because he gives out good information. I agree though if I was to watch a YouTuber for this sort of thing Dave2D isn't a bad way to go, but again not my cup of tea for this sort of thing.
Like what? I’ve always seen MKBHD as respected and popular. I’ve followed him for years.

MKBHD is just another one of the plain droll youtubers , look for better analysis elsewhere. I mean you could always listen to Linus's anti apple rants but has seemingly decided to start a apple channel..why...$$$ of course.

Air tags seems a waste of money and potentially an anti-trust case by the sounds of it.

Good effort on the iMac.

Shame the smaller iPad Pro doesn't get a better screen, the bigger one is far to big for casual reading etc.

I’m guessing you don’t actually watch Linus’ content otherwise you’d know they give most Apple products a positive review because, well, in the main they are good products.

The difference is that they will also call out Apple’s hypocrisy when it comes to some of their business practices and marketing which frankly needs to be done by more people.

I grant you that Linus does provide many perspectives but on average he's does bash on Apple more than most. He's only really become more balanced since his channel come out. I'd still look for other reviews of apple kit then that 'mainstream' youtubers.

Looks like the new 12.9” iPad Pro isn’t compatible with the current Magic Keyboard as it’s slightly thicker. Doh.

I'm sorry, but that channel has literally been alive for a week and has published two videos. Their Mac coverage has been more than fair for years if you actually watch the content. I also say 'their' because while Linus has ultimate editorial control, he has a team of writers behind him so it's really not a single persons opinion.

"But why does the iMac have a massive chin instead of more display real estate?"
The biggest complaint I hear about the iMac is the chin but funnily enough, it's from people who don't own one and don't sit in front of one for hours a day. It's like the notch on the iPhone, the people who make the biggest fuss about it are those who don't have one. The same goes for the Touch Bar, the most vocal complainers are those who don't actually have a laptop with a Touch Bar.

I own a Touch Bar MBP and specifically bought an M1 MBA so that I wouldn't have a touch bar as I think it's terrible compared to physical buttons after actually using it. I'm not sure why you think that it's people who aren't using or own the devices that are complaining about it, plenty of people who own said devices have issues with aspects of them...

Just out of interest, could I use an air tag in my car as a GPS tracker? You know incase it ever got stolen? Or would the range of the air tag not work if it was over a certain mileage away from your iPhone?

If you can connect to the AirTag within the (current) 3 day timeout period then i don't see why not. If not, then the AirTag will start making a noise and there's talk (i don't believe has directly commented on this) Apple could start removing AirTag's from the network - it's all to prevent people using them as trackers/for stalking etc.

Do realise it requires other iPhone/Apple's users to be around for it to appear on the network as it's not a GPS tracker. So it might not work if the car got dumped in the middle of nowhere.
