Apple iOS Apps not updating

Hey all,

My mum has just got a new iPad and I’ve set it up for her but she is having a weird issue that I can’t figure out...

All the apps update correctly but the native iOS apps like Pages etc. refuse to update - they just stay in the update list in the App Store, and when I press update, it whirls around and then shows the update button again.

I’ve tried doing a hard reset and that’s where my experience ends

Any ideas?

How is it connecting to the internet? If it’s cellular then there is a size limit to downloading and updating apps.

It’s Wi-Fi only.

I'd say so - But I will have to confirm. The iPad was bought for her about a week ago.

Some apps wont update unless you are using the latest iOS. Update the OS then update the apps. If this does not work, delete the app and re-download it.

It should give a notification if the update doesn't support the version of iOS that is currently installed and not just attempt to update and revert to state that an update is available.

Funny enough I had this. I signed out of the app store in settings, re-logged in and rebooted. This worked for me. I couldn't get apps/updates for days then it worked when I did that.
