Well looks like they are definitely releasing new MacBook Pro's and iMacs.

"While there may be rumors of an iPhone launch at WWDC, we expect Apple will host a separate event in late June to launch the device. But Apple will not fail to deliver new products at WWDC," he wrote. "Apple has announced that a full-featured version of OSX 10.5 Leopard will be demonstrated and handed out at the event. This means that we will finally see how Apple will integrate Windows operability into Leopard."

Munster added that he "expects" new MacBook Pros to make a showing at the developer conference and that it's "also possible" that Apple will introduce a redesigned iMac. He notes that on average, the Cupertino-based company has updated its professional notebooks every 182 days, with the most recent generation having launched 209 days ago. Similarly, he said, iMacs have traditionally seen updates every 168 days but the current generation is now a whopping 257 days old.

A black iMac would be rather nice.

Hmm... but the quintessential of Mac design is White, well, least in my opinion, it should remain White but a redesign in style. Something to stand out yet minimal. I personally don't mind the design as it is... what I really want is some hardware upgrade to them... especially the GPU...

I think that too, but a black iMac would look quite sexy, although I wouldn't ever buy a black mac.

Not long now though until all is revealed!

BeatMaster :D

That's very nice, Apple will be introducing LED screens which are supposed to be very thin, weather or not they come out this WWDC is unknown.

If Apple were to release new hardware now like new Macbook Pros, do you think they would give out upgrades to Leopard , or would that happen much closer to the release fo Leopard?

if the pros are released with new gpus and santa rosa they wont update them again for a long time.

the macbooks will probably get an upgrade in septemberish though.

Hmmm, I think the opposite.

I can't see them holding back when the Penryn processors hit 'late 2007', which would coincide with Leopard, on the MBPs at least.

What I would like to know is that how would someone know that the MBPs were definitely new ones? Does this mean that the case has had a refresh? Surely if the internals were only upgraded they wouldn't know that they were new unless they had played with them?

yea but 5-6 months is a pretty long time to wait for a cpu refresh
Yeah, I meant they will update June (if the rumors are true), but likely will re-release a new revision in October-Decemberish as well (Classic Apple strategy)

Hmmm... I'm dying to see what they come up with for the 15" MBP :D

If they're changing the chipset to support 4GB in October I may wait.

Only con I can see atm is the fact that MS Office 2007 for the Mac will support AppleScript not VB so it a doc on one using VB will not work on the Mac and vice-versa.
Also the issue with backward compatibility of the file formats..

Not flaming you, but it sucks how Apple release the updates for the 15" first (generally).. people who want the premium 17" always have to wait!

To me, it would make sense to update the flagship model, but it seems they prefer to update based on popularity rather than price :(

Yep, it's rumoured the 15" will be the first MacBook to get LED backlighting, also I've read that they may discontinue the Mac Mini, doubt that though.
