Apple 'Spring Forward' Event 09/03/2015

They are still selling the MacBook Air and Retina MacBook Pro.

There is no Macbook Air Retina - this new one is simply the Macbook.

It has a USB-C port which is a bit like a Thunderbolt port, look it up. It's meant to be a portable notebook not a mobile workstation like a rMBP.
The problem is that I can't imagine that being convenient unless you're 110% based around wireless technologies. Charge/USB drive/external display/whatever else all at once...not with ease (I have no idea whether this would be supported).

I'd still be recommending a MacBook Air or rMBP for the majority, though of course an extremely small MacBook of course does have its uses (and that display - potential photographers portable paradise for quick edits and imports).

They meant SSD. One of the advantages of not relying on a SATA interface!
Crazy really. The current PCI-E SSDs are achieving around 750Mbps, let alone doubling that!

Also didn't understand the 599-1099 quote for the Stainless steel watch. The price depends on the bands, what could possibly be in teh band that would double the cost of the device, considering the base watch (the middle part) will be the same!

Answered by checking the Apple site!! The most expensive Apple watch has a stainless steel strap for £949 and the cheapest is 549 for a rubber looking "sport" strap.

Seems pricey to me, for the straps, but I don't know too much about watches (I wear a pebble with a £5 silicone strap on it!!).

£379 for the 42mm metal link bracelet alone...:O

Keeping in mind that this isn't a watch, it's a piece of tech...you'd have to be utterly insane to spend that money, even if you're filthy rich (somebody will say it's a drop in the ocean etc...).

You have to feel sorry for Pebble. Time Steel at $299, or the Apple Watch Sport for $50 more...I know which I'd have.

I haven't watched the keynote to be honest, but jesus there's a lot of choice. Are the watches actually different? Between the "watch" and the "watch sport"? Is it purely looks or are there actually HW/SW differences..

£300 starting price. OUCH. Plus I think it's ugly anyway.

What idiots are going to purchase the gold £8000 - £13,500 one as well! They seem to look rubbish as well! Could get a beautiful watch for that much.

UK prices on the Apple Store aren't good at all, best part of a grand for the one I'd ideally want... No value in that really.

Apple Watch Sport - 38mm £299.00
42mm £339.00

Apple Watch - 38mm £479.00 - £899.00 Depending on strap.
42mm £519.00 - £949.00 Depending on strap.

Apple Watch Edition £8000 - £13500 Depending on strap and Size. LOL

They're the same.

I'm sure there will be the option for aftermarket bracelets at better prices. I could deal with an aluminium model with a non-silicone bracelet that isn't from Apple.
