Apple Store in Belfast!

I wish they'd bring a decent Apple shop to Wales.

At the moment my nearest reseller is 50 miles away, and no sight of an official store :(

I wouldn't care if they built one in the capital, it's better than the limited choice of some pokey reseller.

********* is the only Apple reseller near me, which is about half an hour away. It says "Apple Store now Open" etc, but there are only 3 iMacs and Apple TVs. Ghay.

Has anyone got an update on this? Has the store ever materialised? Or are we forever going to be without our own Apple Store? :(

Haven't heard anything recently on this but it definitely is meant to be happening!

I'm coming up to the end of my placement in Dublin here.
Living in Carrickfergus, it'd certainly make a great Summer/weekend job while at Uni!

It'd also be extremely convenient for fixing my problems with my MacBook, as the Apple Service Centre in Mallusk is only open Mon - Fri, and I'm never in the North weekdays! :(

I so wish this would open soon!

Anyone heard any more info on the apple store in victoria square? I heard somewhere that a big apple sign was spotted outside and now is covered over again. Also heard that a few people were starting work with apple last week so it couldn't be far away. Hopefully by mid september it will be open. Does anyone know if all apple stores include a repair centre or would equipment need to be sent to UK to be fixed?

Yes guys I was at Victora Sqaure thier yesturday with mates and the unit which will be the apple shop is well underway... thier is a black plastic cover over the front the Glass and the Apple Logo.

Thanks for the info man. Can't wait till this opens. I hope there is a repair centre there too as it would be well handy if anything got broken without having to send to UK. Only ever been in a proper apple store once but it was a crappy one in Brussels.

No worries. Yeh that would be well handy with a repair centre in store! I just wonder how big these units are I have to be honest they dont seem massive.

I have being in two Apple Stores one in Manchester which was cool and then the one in London Oxford Street that was Amazing the Glass Stair Case and things also met James May off Top Gear fame buying a Macbook .

People are hoping for a glass star case in Belfast I hope sooo :p

Good news, its about the only thing I would want to visit in the new centre lol!

Does this mean I can deal with them when it comes to Apple Care warrenty stuff etc etc?

Awesome! I was having a peek through those cracks in that unit the other week in the hope of seeing something! I need a job, but I think I'm too late for the new jobs :(

Can't wait to buy my new MacBook there! :D

Macsys are handling the repair side of things. And to be honest if this is correct, you would be safer sending it to the UK. As we have used them in work and the word cowboys springs to mind.

Also i thought macs never went wrong, so you wont need to get it repaired.

Just been past the apple store again today and i could see inside from the balcony on the upper floor. It looks like its quite a way to go before opening yet. Probably a few more weeks.

Belfast Apple Store will open this saturday on 20th September at 0900!

Taken from apple site...

"Apple Store, Victoria Square Grand Opening

Join us for the Grand Opening and get the chance to win a Digital Lifestyle Collection that includes a black MacBook and a silver iPod nano. The first 1,000 people through the doors will receive a free Apple T-shirt.
September 20, 9:00 a.m."

I'm there! hehe... Anyone else going?

I'm also going to my first Apple Store on Regent Street tomorrow afternoon! Can't wait!

If I thought there was going to be good freebies then i'd go but if only a t-shirt then i think i can just afford to miss it! I work in city centre at the moment so will maybe nip down next week at lunch.

:O! time to change my location stats :(

We got one back in mk during the last year or so (was at uni so missed out why it appeared) they are pretty cool (nearly nearly got a macbook with HE discount) but you know it will become full of kids using the free internet to take silly pics of them selves (i think thats what they do and i assume the kids out side city hall will become them..)

*grumbles how kids today dont know what they have*

'We have wives and girlfriends who aren't very happy...'

Sure you do...

High-fiving everyone who comes into the store made me a bit sick in my mouth as well.
