As we haven't decided what to do for our next competition yet, I'm proposing we do the same as last month and vote from a selection of themes for a few days or a week.
As it's late we should extend the ending time of this competition in to the first few days of May.

Select a theme from the below. If you think these are all terrible themes.. tough :p (they're mostly based on the themes suggested in Phate's original thread but I've used some creative license to bring some together and make them more broad)

Vote for the theme by 11:59pm on Friday 4th - any entry taken from 1st April to 4th May inclusive will be valid

Shutter Speed
Any pictures where shutter speed have been an important factor in the shot - be it a fast shutter speed to capture a moment in time or slow shutter speed to blur motion or smooth those pesky water creases (waves).

Spring
It's spring - any shots related to the season we're in - blooming flowers, hatching dinosaurs, your massive easter egg collection - or a picture of an old spring you found down the back of your sofa (which may explain why you find it so difficult to get up off of it).

Outdoors
Landscapes, Seascapes, Cityscapes, Prisonescapes - anything that happens outside (maybe not the last one)

Age
Modern or Historic, Old or Young - or all of the above (your grandma on an antique tricycle juggling babies). Could be architecture, portraiture or anything in between.

My newest lens doesn't take filters, and doesn't shoot any wider than 4.5 so I'm screwed if we go with shutter speed.

What about the theme itself being open, but all submissions should be in portrait?

Most people people are shooting 3:2 landscape so it be interesting to see more portrait orientation shots.

Close voting at 17:00 on Friday that way we don't lose a weekend.

Now after all I've said above, if I have to choose one from the list I'll go with outdoors.

I dont understand why you think you are limited with shutter speed due to your lens choice as theres loads of things you can do. Dragging the shutter being a nice example.

Shutter speed.

vote for age from me.

Shutter speed would be an endless sea of sea/cityscapes with long exposures.

That's not what I have in mind. If you don't like the entries you don't have to vote for them. ;) One of the judging criteria could be creative interpretation of the theme.
