Aprilia RS125, should I?

The Aprilla is more expensive to service, buy parts for and to run. If you want a fast 125 go for an nsr125.

Not really, parts aren't overly expensive and freely available compared to a NSR.

People saying they are unreliable are wrong. If you keep it in good nick it will be fine.

I personally wouldn't buy one though, after being in the same situation. I've currently got a RS125 being worked on, by myself. Kind of a 'project' to me. Should be on the road soon. If i was you I would use the money to get the test THEN buy a bigger bike.

lol im not really gunna be 'giving it loads', and i dont have a childish atitude either, i know the dangers.

I wasnt being serious, i was just irritated by some at the time :)

basically the rs is a nice bike and probably the fastest bike that is learner legal, but its expensive, the nsr is slower and slightly more reliable but parts are harder to get hold of, a cbr 125 is a cg with go faster stripes, and the cg is cheap and faster than a 50cc...but is still better than an sr125 from what i have read.

if you want fast and reliable just do the das or do your test and ride a 250 or restricted 400.

As far as 125's are concerned. Nothing looks better for me than the Hyosung GT 125R.

Jees, that looks fantastic for a 125. 8v V-twin too.
Bet the Korean build quality is poor though.

Then again, who cares about the build quality. It's a 125 so all that matters is the looks.

£3k OTR is pretty good too. Oh, they do a 250cc version too.
1yr old ones seem to go for £2k.
