Aquiss

Have CityFibre become any more realistic on their 100Gb port prices or are they still unlikely to attract many ISPs to offering 5Gbps+ services

No movement currently, but conversations between ourselves and them continue on this point.

Very high :D

NNIs were completed last week to support 1.2 and 1.8 and a commercial appendix was signed very recently to extend our Openreach portfolio of products. Expect more very soon

Excellent news, can you disclose any expected time frames?

Enabled the geofeed control option this morning, will see if it makes any difference once it kicks in (looks like a week or so with others who have enabled it in this thread) now I've been moved to Manchester (at my request by Martin) as Cloudflare routes to Manchester now and has dropped from 7/8ms to 3/4ms

Martin, have you had any further updates on this? When we can we expect roll-out?

Good morning @aquiss. I hope you might be able to clear up some confusion in my mind. At the moment i am with Idnet on the 900/900 plan, which is provided through Full Fibre Heroes. I see on your website that you also use Full Fibre Heroes, but when i click on "check availability" i get "No Availability".
How can that be when i am already connected to Fibre Heroes network ?

Because FibreHeroes are the most disorganised ALTnet that we have to deal with...they really have a poor clue of where their network is and their RFS data is terrible. If you can send an email into sales@ then we can take a look at this for you.

Thanks for the reply Martin. "Disorganised" is, i think, a polite word for it. Not only does Aquiss show as not available, so does my own ISP idnet and i've only been with them for 4 years on FTTP . Strangely both BeFibre and Zzoom show me as already on their networks lol.
What an absolute mess.

Internally we are ready, current staff are all trained, so all being well, June 1st is the expected launch.

Thanks Martin. Forgive my ignorance, but if the BT Wholesale checker doesn't show that I can get above 1000Mbps on there - I presume that means I'd be unable to get anything higher? Not quite sure how often the data is updated if I'm honest.

Openreach checker shows 1600Mbps but again, not sure how accurate the data is.

We work with Openreach data, rather than BTW data, but I have set the team up (and our internal systems) to validate every order as part of what we do.

If Zen or EE support 1.6Gbps you can get it from Openreach but if Zen or EE checker say only up to 900Mbps, you won't be getting 1.6Gbps from Openreach will be the same result from Aquiss. Don't get your hope up too high. I can't get 1.6Gbps because EE say my area isn't ready for Openreach 1.6Gbps.

My contract with EE ends in July, I don't want to give them anymore money then I have to, my broadband bill just keeps rising and rising!

How far in advanced can I order Aquiss? Depending on the price I'd be really tempted for the 1.2 or 1.8 packages if they are available by the end of July, all the Openreach checkers say I can get 1.6Gbps. I know for sure though I'd need a new ONT - the one I have at the moment is over 10 years old!

I'm in the same boat. Once Aquiss are taking orders for the 1.6Gbps (or whatever anyone chooses to call it) I'll get signed up.

EE offered me the 900Mbps product for £35/month when their loyalty team called but whilst they could offer me the 1.6Gbps product for the same price as new customers I'd have to be setup as a new customer which feels like a ball ache. If I'm going to do that I may as well jump ship.

I’m only interested in faster upload, 1Gb is plenty down for me but give me the uploooaaddsss.

Thanks guys. EE says I can get 1.6Gbps but Zen says 900. Looking forward to seeing some pricing.
