Arc Raiders

my only concern is like already mentioned. the game sees you as a ganker and changes how it matchmakes you.

in general i would say 80%+ of my player interactions are not agressive and i would like to keep it that way

If you're the one getting shot you've got nothing to worry about. I would also assume that the matchmaking thing (if it exists) is quite dynamic so will swap you to a different group/band/category/whatever after a few matches.

Ultimately this game is very heavily AI based so I'd expect that the matchmaking part is also AI managed.

Actually based off that I wanted to list the AI stuff we know about, feel free to add some in:

AI generated voice acting
AI algorithms clearly at work with the round rating system
Machine learning on the Arc
AI matchmaking?

I'm surprised at how sell the devs have managed to integrate it in to the game, it works really well.

During the Cold Snap condition, the clock is ticking. The freezing weather will cut your Raider down in minutes unless you get indoors, or heal up quickly. Bear this in mind when engaging other Raiders - getting pinned down in the open is a death sentence during a Rust Belt winter. (sounds similar to Survival in Division 2)

The Candleberry Bush forms the centerpiece of these festivities. For Speranzans, this hardy plant is a versatile asset during the winter months: boiling the berry creates a wax that burns for hours. Crushing them yields a refreshing juice while the roots make for a tea that drives out the toughest colds. Candleberries make hearty stews, warming soups, and gifts of perfume and soap, while the wreaths can be fashioned into festive decorations that offer Speranzans a hint of Topside's greenery. Speranza needs A LOT of them for the Candleberry Banquets!

Speranzans rely on other essential items through the winter too. Light and heat sources boost morale and help keep Speranzans comfortable, while giving them the best chance to fight through to the spring.

Will you help your fellow Speranzans through the year's most testing month by collecting Candleberries for the banquets and important items for Speranza?
You’re not asked to help out for nothing - a Raider's got to eat. Candleberries and Special Items will redeem for:

  • Raider Tokens
  • New items
  • Rare utility items
  • Weapons
  • Cosmetics
  • Merits
You'll also gain Merits for simply doing what Raiders do best - braving any Topside location and earning XP. Remember, more Merits means more stuff. Are we speaking your language?

Usually for a daily challenge. Dmg other raiders with light/medium/shotgun weapons etc.

Or it's possible they were unable to ignore the voices in their head screaming at them to do it.

I've not done it, but the voices are getting loud.
100% this. It allows me to complete the challenge without actually ruining anyone's game. Works perfectly tbh.

Unless the shooter emptying their mag in the victim and you die before the elevator leaves.. then it shucks big time.. :(

I got 3 of them in 1 room yesterday on a night raid on Dam, dished 2 out to passing raiders, I have countless hours on this game now and they were the 1st Wolfpack blueprints I've come across.

Perhaps they tweaked Wolfpack drops.
After being downed by a Shredder when it slipped through the door before it closed on a Night raid, a kind random revived me and I went on to find the BP (finally).
Seeing as I am doing the Expedition, I've messaged him to see if he wants it - seems a waste of time consuming it now.

if you dont want it and the other player doesnt get back to you, i would be more than happy to help you free up an inventory slot for you. i am nice like that :D

it's not that I don't want new stuff. however as much as the game in general runs really well on my steamdeck, I think some random shaders or something really screw with it and the framerate tanks for up to a minute before sorting itself out.

I can only imagine some sort of snow storm etc could cause the issue too.

had a mare tonight and made no progress. either I spawned in a silly place and by the time I got to target I was too late, I had some stupid deaths where I lost my gear and THREE times had the bug where I can't get to my inventory or loot anything (not sure if this is unique to steamdeck bug).

Never had that bug, maybe it is indeed just a steamdeck thing.

Bought this on Saturday, and haven't stopped playing (save for my job). First-timer in this genre, and I think it is great. It is the urgency, stealth and suspense that really appeals. It is tough grind as a newbie mind.

Out of interest, how do you guys set up your inventory. I fairly frequently die so I have to recraft/repurchase a decent weapon etc. Do you keep one in your inventory prior to a mission, in case you die?

Also, should I be holding onto the odd legendary/epic item, which I can't use (including trinkets), or should I sell these now, as I am only a peasant at this stage?

Here's a really handy sheet that shows what items you will want to keep for later and why.

There are other resources available that show this list, so if it doesn't work for you I'm sure you'll be able to find one that does.

Aside from that, in the early game I would sell everything and put the coin towards upgrading your stash size. You'll need it later for sure. :)

I've frequently had the bug where I can't interact with anything, but entering and exiting my inventory with tab clears the issue.

I assume this isn't an option on the steam deck? It might be the same bug, complicated by different key binds?
