As things stand, surrendering makes it so that you have played a round without firing a shot.I’m wondering does surrendering have a negative or neutral effect. I have not noticed being moved to aggressive lobbies after doing it. I surrendered a lot of times over the last couple of days and did some Stella Montis runs yesterday and was in a very friendly lobby for all of them.
The theory goes that this means the algorithm thinks you've gone a round without any PvP and adjusts your matchmaking accordingly. Skewing it towards pve.
If you keep surrendering you get stacks of back to back PvP-free games and eventually you end up in the mainly pve lobbies without actually needing to play a round at all.
Or so the theory goes. People have tested it and have said that it is an effective way to game the system. I haven't tried it myself.
Ideally surrendering that early wouldn't impact your matchmaking at all, but that doesn't seem to be the case.
It certainly doesn't move you towards more PvP focussed lobbies tho.
