I've tried it twice with $60k kits and got killed, but it's impossible without the right gear, I think I need to do a duo or solo to discract the arc

I had to learn how to do it solo last week - as my friends been to busy to play. Its pretty easy with another player though. Me and my mate have one of us as a get out of jail guy. Loaded with a hull cracker extra smokes, lure grenades etc. If something goes wrong, I shout shoot and he distracts the 20 ARCs above me. I go down he cloacks in gets my gear and extracts.
I have learnt how to do it solo, but doing that I naked kit with just a few smokes and cloak. If i die, I die.

I would be more than happy to help you do it. Im on the final stage now so still need to complete it.

I think thats it for me with this game - enjoyed it for the time I spent on it - just chilling out finding parts / shooting arc / crafting etc, but every game Ive been put in recently Ive got quickly shot by other players with no warning, which is a playstyle Im not interested in and dont enjoy. A large part of the fun of this game for me was helping other players and working together, if I keep getting shot by people sneaking up behind me with no chance to respond its just not fun and the whole vibe has changed to something im not into. Does this make me a 'care bear'? Possibly, Im just not into the aggressive and unpleasant people Ive run into the last few times Ive played it.

your play style seems much like mine. I have played this a lot the last few weeks but only been ratted twice. and to be fair one of those was probably my fault (we were both shooting a flying arc for the bits but the other guy did do more damage than me, however I beat him to the punch so he shot me.
the other one however was lame, 2 of us were fighting a big arc and a 3rd player waited till we did the work then close to the end we both got caught in fire. whilst recharging shields he then ratted both of us with a level 4 osprey. we had no chance.

thankfully for me this is the exception not the rule. unfortunately if I want to max gamescore it I will need to do PvP.

on another note... In my entire 1st playthrough I never needed complext gunparts (despite having the blueprint) however now typically I need them and don't have the blue print. sods law innit!.

First (successful) go at a break of the new laser rockets nabbed me one, story in my earlier comment. Tried a few times with very expensive load outs and failed, only just managed to get this one for the Dolabra because some kind soul revived me and didn't nick it.

I realise now why they've got shredders on all maps though, it's because you need 3 Shredder gyros to craft one (among other things)

I just realised you can see your round history in the player stats.

Saw this one from when I ran a super expensive loadout on the new map condition and someone bonked me. $57k loadout down the drain

Looks like in over 123 hours I've only downed 2 players and fully killed 1!

4 Squadmate revivals (to be expected as I mainly run solo), with 6 stranger revives.

Damn, I just met the coolest dude in Stella.

Offered me 3 blue prints just out of the blue in the middle of medical after a Shedder anhiliated me and he revived me, two I didn't have, plus he just gave me a bettina, which I didn't realise was epic. I tried to offer something in return, but they guy was like don't worry about it, I'm totally loaded, lol

I ran out of prison pockets and had to leg it for the exit!

indeed. as much as there are some rats in the game there are also a lot of really nice folks too.

(note I use the term rats not against all PvPers. I just don't like those who deliberately wait till you have done the hard graft and they wait till you see vulnerable before shooting players in the back.)

Doh, I was so overwhelmed with his kindness and freaking out about all the goop I totally forgot to get the shredder gyro I needed to craft my first Dolabra, lol

Yeah, I think over 100 hours with only 1 PVP kill has been doing wonders for me landing in relatively decent lobbies. Also I guess being solo 99% of the time also helps.

I decided to try out my aphelion. (the one which needs a matriarch core). I didn't build it it was a mission reward.
against rocketeers it was rubbish to be honest... but against the queen it was superb at stripping armour of its legs. I pretty much dropped off the armour from all but 2 of its legs in short fashion.. not being greedy however I only looted 1 of them.. I was looking forward to having some fun with that. unfortunately... I completely borked up shutting down the harvester and got trapped inside with the flames. no one revived me and i got trampled by the queen trying to make a crawl for it.
so my aphelion lasted less than 1 mission.

Yeah, that blows. I die 90% of the time I take a good gun in, which means I barely ever use them, lol.

Although I've started to play more Duo's because I've made a few friends. Because of that we can all bring smokes and defibs if we go down, so much more likely to get out alive. If I'm on my own I always warm up a bit before taking out anything expensive, even with that, I've not even touched the Aphelion I got weeks ago.

Currently spending ages trying to get the high quality arc steel so I can make a Dolobra, but I know I'll probably lose that too straight away. That's the problem with friendlies, you rarely get to loot someone with a lot of goop, unless you find them downed near an extract because an arc got them.

I've not even attempted a queen event yet, but I've been watching a lot of Burnt Peanut, and it does seem pretty doable if you're half decent with a snap hook and have a high rate of fire weapon to shoot the core once you blow the top off, either that or there's time to plant 2 deadlines at a time. I think it's like two or three double deadlines to take it out once the core is open.

My fave 'average' gun at the moment is a tricked our Renegade IV with good attachments, combined with an Anvil. great for blowing rotors off flying arc and the roley poley ones. Only issue is reload time.
Pretty great long range too, you can take out 2 low/mid level flying arc from long distance on your own before they get to you if you're half decent with the aim.
I need to find some more level III attachment blueprints as the traders/shops don't really sell the high end ones.

don't forget you do not need to Kill the queen. every piece of leg armour has a core in it. I have not figured out how to do dam location yet. blue gate is my favourite (use petrol station for cover) but spaceport also has good cover too .

you can use the actual harvester for cover as well but this is much safer once it has been shut down (not managed to solo that yet but it's fairly easy if there are a few of you. remember to take off your shield before going in and watch for the core going yellow. you will die if you get trapped in there when it releases the fire.
