Arc Raiders

wowsers..... today I was just getting in full rat lobbies... so decided WTH I may as well go for the PvP achievements. I managed the down a player with a grenade one however other than that in must be 10 raids or more I have not got a single KO. 2 times i downed a player another player took me out before I got the KO blow. I really don't like PvP and it is really hard on steamdeck

need the 10 KOs (7 to go) and knock someone out with the raider tool achievement
god knows how I can get the snitch one. maybe I can hang out around one of the mushroom spawns on spaceport and as one of those players who drop in then quit if no mushrooms and when they come in offer to give them a mushroom if they let a snitcher wasp take them out

They only need to get downed for that one. So if you're in friendly lobbies you can ask someone to let you do it and then defib them after. I've had people ask me twice and both times they asked if I wanted to do it back after. I think only one of them even offered me something for it.

lamest of lame bugs...
ok so this is a new one on me, happened 1st time yesterday and I put it down to random glitch.

happened a 2nd time today and I was worried the control stick on my steamdeck is broken but extensive testing and messing around it worked flawless... and then just happened again.

when an arc spots you and makes it's attack run on you.... the controls stop working. it's almost like you are stuck in treacle, or an elastic band is attached to you and the arc. you can move away a little bit but then you slow down or are pulled back.

have died now twice to a shredder and once to a leaper due to this despite being completely in control before it.
it is utterly rage inducing (for me .. maybe am easily triggered at moment ;) ) when you want to run or roll and it refuses or worse still goes backwards

am I the only one to experience this? it feels a bit like when yo get the network lag but this only seems to happen when under attack.

I've been having the red network symbol come up a lot this past week, lot of rubber banding, mainly on Spaceport. Thought it was my end, but watching a streamer yesterday and he was having terrible lag just on Stella. So could be server end also if it's only just started happening to you?

I had about 10 minutes worth yesterday evening but sorted itself out.

I'm trying to complete the antennae event and without the smoke bomb blueprint, it is REALLY hard :o I'm using the mini smokes but they don't last very long.
so I have done a few without anything just out of curiosity. use a green loadout so you get a prison pocket with super cheap stuff and stealth up as close as you can somewhere in cover. when the rotating platform gets to the slope you are closest too then leg it up, breach and stuff the part in your prison pocket

I have done this.. 3 times I think. twice I got downed before getting back to cover and once I made it back but all 3 times I got a part in my safe pocket .
if there are loads of players then it is less likely you will get a free run to a breach but I find near the end of the level a lot of players have dropped out and you can find unlooted pockets.

They've made some changes for the upcoming expedition..

A Triumphant Exit

April 17, 2026

A new Expedition Window is fast approaching and it is time to get your caravan ready. For the third Expedition, we’re doing things a little differently - the big news being that Skill Points will be earned by dealing damage over the five day window, NOT stash value.

Whether you are a seasoned veteran or stepping into your first Expedition, read on for a full breakdown of the changes, requirements, and rewards.

With your caravan built, you have one last opportunity to truly cement your legacy before departure.

Timing:

The Expedition window will open on the 28th of April at 13:00 CEST/11:00 UTC/04:00 PT. You will have 5 days to sign up and complete the requirements and on the 4th of May at 09:00 CEST/07:00 UTC/00:00 PT, all players who have signed up will depart automatically.

Note that completing your caravan does not count as signing up for the Expedition, you still have to sign up during the 5 day window.

We are also introducing a ‘last call’ feature, read more below.

Expeditions are a personal progression that players complete in order. The Caravan can be completed in between Expedition windows but finishing the Expedition can only be done during a scheduled departure window.

How to do the Expedition:

  1. Complete the Caravan
The option to contribute to the Caravan starts as soon as you complete the previous Expedition and if this is your first Expedition, you can start contributing right away.
  2. Wait for the Expedition Window
The next window opens on April 28th 13:00 CEST/11:00 UTC/04:00 PT and closes on May 4th 09:00 CEST/07:00 UTC/00:00 PT.
  3. Sign Up
Once the Expedition window opens, you need to sign up.
  4. Complete the Challenge
In order to get extra skill points (5 total per Expedition), players will need to complete a challenge within a 5 day window (more details below).
  5. Catch Up
Catch up on missed skill points (max 5 per catch-up) for players on their second or third expedition (more details below).
  6. Depart
Everyone that signed up departs on Monday at 09:00 CEST/07:00 UTC/00:00 PT.

What’s different?

Use your last gear to leave a mark that will remain long after you're gone.

  • Deal damage challenge instead of stash value for skill points.
    • Instead of gathering stash value and coins, players will now have to deal damage to get all 5 skill points (regardless if it’s your first, second or third expedition). All players who have completed their Caravan will get the challenge (no need to sign up to see it).
    • You can complete the challenge by dealing damage with any weapon or gadget against any target.
    • Players will have 5 days to complete the damage challenge (Tuesday to Sunday).
  • Catch up is still tied to stash value.
    • Players who will now be departing on their second or third Expedition (not relevant for players on their first Expedition) who missed some skill points from previous Expeditions will be able to catch up.
    • Players have to complete the damage challenge first in order to unlock the coin/stash value catch up mechanic.
    • Catch-up is 300.000 coins/stash value per skill point.
  • Trials
    • The last week of Season 3 will end on Tuesday, April 28th at 10:00 CEST/08:00 UTC/01:00 PDT.
    • Trials will be available during the Expedition window this time around unlike the previous seasons marking the first week of Season 4 and end at the same time as the Expedition departure time.

Why have we made these changes?

We know that grinding for monetary value isn't the most exciting experience. By introducing damage-based objectives and trials instead of stash value, we're providing more freedom and variety in how you can complete the Expedition, encouraging the use of loot rather than hoarding it throughout the 5-day window. Above all, we want expeditions to be fun and not an endless grind. We believe these changes create a fair and engaging challenge that keeps everyone active across the full 5 days.

What are the rewards?

The rewards are tied to your personal progression which means that if this is your first time doing the expedition, you can only get rewards from the first expedition and so on.

Permanent

If you do the Expedition, permanent rewards will always be on your account.

  • Cosmetics:
    • The Patchwork outfit (evolved)
      • New Toggles:
        • Helmet
        • Bandolier
        • Leg Accessories
      • Color Variation:
        • White Red
        • Black Green
    • Scrappy Turban
    • The Expedition Indicator icon (upgraded for each expedition)
  • Bonuses:
    • +12 stash space per expedition
      • 12 stash space is granted per Expedition so if the max without doing the expedition is 280, doing your first expedition will amount to 292. If you do two Expeditions, the total will be 304. If you do three Expeditions, 316, and so on.
    • +0-5 skill points (+ catch up on missed Skill Points for those embarking on their second or third Expedition, so 91 total for those on their third Expedition, max 5 skill points per catch-up)
      • Skill points are granted based on the damage challenge for the 5 Skill Points and catch up Skill Points are granted based on coins/stash value).
Consecutive buffs:

Consecutive means that if you miss an Expedition Window, these buffs will be reset. These numbers represent the total percentage rather than an addition.

  • 5%→10%→15% XP boost
  • 6%→12%→ 18% Scrappy materials boost
  • 60%→70%→80% Repair value increase

New Feature ‘Last Call’:

For players who have completed the caravan, but missed signing up during the 5 day Expedition Window, they will have a chance to sign up. During the next log-in, players will get a pop up with the last chance to sign up. The damage requirement is not needed for this option although no skill points will be granted.

Future expeditions:

Finishing the third Expedition will unlock the entire Patchwork outfit, and the fourth Expedition will introduce the first step of a brand new one. Looking ahead, we will continue gathering data and feedback to make adjustments and improvements to future expeditions. We hear you on rewards, and we are committed to making them more meaningful and reflective of what players actually achieve. We also understand that losing full progression is a concern for many, and we will be iterating on what gets reset and what carries over into future expeditions.

Good luck out there, Raiders.

The ARC Raiders Team

If I am reading that right do all players now get the ability to catch up if they have missed previous expeditions?

I've reset once for the last expedition and will be doing the next 1 as well.

no alas not. IF you did a previous expedition but didn't have enough cash to max out the skill points you can buy the missing points..
.but if you didn't do the expedition unfortunately you are SOOL

Finished the caravan last night ready for the expedition. Total stash/money of 3.6 million, just need to see what the damage requirements are for the window when it opens.

Managed to get to the reinforced reception room three times in a row and out of the three managed to loot two augment blueprints, unfortunately not the survivor mk 3, but the combat mk 3 flanker. I never knew that existed but has turned out to be a decent augment for pistol use. So I don't feel so bad now resetting with a half decent augment waiting. Just that survivor aug is remaining as rare as ever.

Considering getting this not that I’ve ever had much luck on this genre

Should I take the plunge any tips?
if you like the premise then go for it.

I am really torn. I was not going to do another expedition but I am tempted now. it's daft tho as I am getting burned out on the game and I have most of the gear I want. the sensible option is to stick.... but the extra 5 skill points and another 12 storage bins are tempting me

100 percent recommend this game!
It does a lot of things right, I have sunk silly hours into it and still playing.
My main tip would be to go the PVE route to learn the game, get looted up and upgrade everything, there are many hours to be enjoyed just doing this, then you can start killing if that floats your boat.

PVE/PVP lobbies explained - It works like this - if you kill on sight enough times (5-or so games) you will be placed into Lobbies where you will encounter players who will do the same to you which makes it far more challenging to play the PVE aspects of the game. Likewise if you are friendly, it will place you into lobbies where you are unlikely to get any PVp aggro, not guaranteed though.
You can switch between the 2 with your behaviour so if I'm in PVP mode and want to switch over I will go into a map and not attempt to kill any body and never fire back etc, give friendly call outs and after maybe half a dozen games It will revert me back into friendly lobbies again.

I would say a resounding yes, I'm going along with previous posters to say it's the best game I've played in a long time. But it's not for everyone, especially if you don't like PvP.

It's a fine balance, as if you like solo play it can be the best experience you can have, meeting strangers and helping them or you can get stabbed in the back with no way of retaliating. But that's what gives this game the edge in my opnion.

I hate getting shot in the back and losing everything, it doesn't happen that often and you can avoid most of those situations with a bit of common sense and gut instinct.

But that edginess, the chance of bumping into a player who's out to kill on sight and steal your hard earned loot (as fighting Arc can be very challenging at times) is what keeps me returning.

Because in the next instance you can bump into someone who needs help or someone has found a rare drop and they don't need it, so they drop it for you to have.

Playing in duos/trios is pure PvP, if that's your bag you'll love it.

I stopped playing about 3/4 weeks ago once I hit 3M stash and coins ready for the next expedition.

I went back to Helldivers 2 as I did this just before the new warbond came out so all caught up with both games now which will allow me to jump back on to Arc for the damage challenge
