Arc Raiders

If they don't do it then a lot of players will be out ....

So are Embark damned if they do, damned if they don't ?

No as apparently they pivoted from being pve to include pvp a while back citing it wont have the ability to last long. Now I have not been on this since the inception only past few months but as they stated this already its not like players didn't know the roadmap.

PVE blergh, I've taken a fondness for rooftop camping the extraction points on Space port with my sniper rifle and looting the bodies just before extracting, no looting required....

Also good for reenacting the Full Metal Jacket scene when you catch one out in the open :D

That's one of the great things about the game, thinking about how to use all the good gear to create chaos.

I think Embark are smart enough to realise that the people screeching about PvE and the people screeching about PvP in response are just vocal minorities. Happens with every game and studios capitulating to a minority making loud noises never goes well.

Weird to buy a game knowing it has non optional PvP element if you don't like PvP.
You'd be surprised just how many people (especially the intelligence limited folk on the Steam forums) will buy a game without doing even the most basic research on what they are buying, there was one guy on the steam forums who bought Arc Raiders and was shocked to discover that you lost your loot on death and beat down on the game because of that and demanded a refund. I swear that general levels of intelligence have plummeted in the last 50 years

Its so silly too, because compared to something like Tarkov its relatively easy to get another loadout either by crafting or through the non gated free loadouts. If you found the a gun you like that you can't craft once, you'll find another.

Yup, people, especially many people on the Steam forums, are just simpletons. I lose track of how many times I tell people to research what they are buying (in all games, not just Arc Raiders) but theres still a huge number of gamers out there who see a game being talked about positively, see lots of people playing it, see it reviewing well and then just buy it because of that, with no research, no consideration of whether its the right game for them (as an example, Expedition 33, highly rated game, totally the wrong game for me, hence I didnt buy it). Whats that saying about more money than sense ? :D

The game is PvPvE. That's what it is. And it's doing amazingly well. I very much doubt Embark would consider themselves 'damned' if a bunch of peeps decided not to play their game anymore because they won't change it to what they want. How entitled is that?

The concurrent players today was actually higher than it was yesterday or the day before, will be interesting to see if it sets a new high this weekend

I think its over the weekend where numbers rocket. Was it Sunday past where they had to use queues and there were server issues?

Yeah that was the 1st weekend of release, it went past 350k then. Will be interesting to see what it achieves for the 2nd weekend, whether it will increase on that, indicating the population is still rising or whether it will be dropping in the post immediate release week phase

Theres actually more concurrent players in Arc Raiders on Steam now than BF6 , 282k for Arc, 271k for BF6. Now obviously thats just Steam, so doesnt factor in EA players of BF6 but even so, given the budgets of Arc Raiders vs the budget of BF6, thats a heck of an achievement. Another one in the eye for AAA games

And it cost a grand total of £30

Had a couple of very good extractions on Buried City targeting the hospital for valuables to sell for credits so I could upgrade my stash, 30K+ each time, even walked away with an Osprey 2 from a locker. Last extraction was a little nervy, 3 of us waiting for the train all with guns drawn and me crouched behind minimal cover waiting for someone to start shooting.

Ran in a trio with someone who had the breach box perk on space port last night, avoiding fights and just running to each box, each of us was getting 80-90k worth of loot every run.
