I've upgrading my monitor to 4k Oled and this now looks wonderful, but I've got a couple of questions. I've had to knock down a few settings to get the frame rates back up on my 3080 - are there any good settings videos or articles you'd recommend? I've taken GI back to static and the shadows don't look great now

And is HDR on automatically? I couldn't find it in the menus anywhere...

RE PvP - I think as long as there is matching so you're not up against much higher level players I think I will feel fairer. And I'm gonna start using smoke to extract like someone on here said

No native HDR but RTX HDR works and looks great albeit it'll cost you a few frames. Just make sure the Nvidia overlay is enabled or it won't work.

I'm sure I heard or read that you get put in with people with equivalent gear values (you can see this in the inventory above your loadout next to the weight). Not sure how true that is though.

Hunt use to have a low-key kdr star system to match you. Generally worked well.

I hope they don't share kdr because that will ruin this.

i'm struggling badly with tpp when it gets to the pvp side of things to the point i might have to give up. just cannot warm to 3rd person view in a pvp game. had hoped a few more hours gameplay would help me 'acclimatise' to tpp view again but sadly it seems not.

Had a couple of very good solo runs, only to lose bigly to some Arc drones when I couldn't easily get inside a building. Only had one proper player encounter and they were friendly.#
Spent ages trying to find the Dam control tower locked room without success, as I have a key, but will look for a guide.

i stumbled across that room yesterday evening - wasn't overly impressed with the loot haul we got out of it

As far as I'm aware there is no matchmaking system beyond solo players being up against other solo players the majority of the time.

Devs said they were looking at this but isn't their current focus.

I'm definitely playing this wrong haha, I'm to scared to go into any major buildings so I just scrounge around the outsides picking up grey/greet loot.

Just go into Practice Range and adjust settings with the detailed performance settings enabled. The tool tips tell you the impact of each setting, and how that relates to the frame time numbers.

I sit at about 100-110 at 1440p on a 6950XT without any upscaling, frame gen etc.

It's impressive how bad I am at this game, spent 20+ minutes on Buried at night, full backpack with good stuff, even killed a dude who jumped on me only to die from 2 drones on my way to the extraction lol

I'm having so much fun, 25 hours in already which is quite a lot for me in only a week.

Yeah I used one of my keys to free up inventory yesterday (including a couple other maps) and all of them loot wise was pretty naff.

Learned last night if you need to free up room in your inventory, pull a gun into your loadout and stick attachments to it (if you have them) then put it back in your stash

i've been unimpressed with a few of the locked loot rooms. quite a few of them seem like a lot of effort for not much reward.

Same with them field crates, for the effort of lugging them to the depot they should be a little better imo.

Breach boxes are where it's at, I am now aiming for that perk as fast as possible.

aye they are just utterly pointless to anyone other than a level 1 player - but i've started to notice there's quite a lot of 'pointless' in this game, unfortunately. and that coupled with the poor pvp i don't think this is going to be a long term game for me, shame though as they've got a beautifully crafted world and brilliant game play outside of the pvp.
